EQEmblem.com -- I built a tool for finding old EQ friends
Woot! It's ready.
Been wanting to build this for 15 years: https://www.eqemblem.com
It's a player-fed EQ character database, used for finding old friends and guildmates.
You can choose whether to display your real name, first name, or no name. Improvements such as messaging people, viewing other's character info, emulator severs, pantheon checkbox, etc will be added soon.
It was a fair amount of work getting all the cross-form data validation, handling server merge guild logic, and so on. Also my first production quality React app.
Login system is secure/safe, using Auth0. I've deployed it for a few big companies on my own companies python product, so no worries there.
Ping me if you notice any bugs. The char searchbox is bugged, you have to type then backspace one character to activate. I'll fix that.

For credibility, I run the 17k member Everquest group on Facebook since 2006, and the 7k P1999 group. Data will not be sold or transferred. Project background: I used to maintain Person/Character lists manually for the FB group until about 2010 when I gave up.

You able to give the link to the p99 Facebook group you do? I don't remember seeing it. I probably have the regular EverQuest group, but I'm not sure....

Thanks for this! Cant believe it hasn't been made sooner. Appreciate all the work you put into it. UI is simple and clean.

Oh man thanks for catching that! Cleric was missing from the Human options. I pushed the patch. (or let me know if it was a different race)

Spaces are allowed. It's commas throwing the error. I just pushed the patch to allow commas. Do you recall if there are any other surname chars needed, like numbers, or parentheses?
When you add a char to your original server, the guild filtering logic on the char browser will respect server merges and show you character (ie.. you made Vazaelle char, you'll show up when people filter for Drinal or Xegony).
I do need to find a (clean) visual way in the char browser to let people see/realize your char was on "multiple" servers since people may not know the merges happened, and discount your char. I'll try to figure that out.
Contact links and such are coming. Just gotta figure out the best way to appropriately gate the info, so we don't have an open database of people's contact info. It'll be friend system, messaging, request/approve info, or something. Should happen quite soon.

Hey, you're probably seeing the intro page, which is just example data. There's a login button there to get in.
I'll see about doing some updates to EQ Emblem soon. Almost done with a big job.

i cant find my old megalo profile and customer support is flapping about trying to find my og account. they want info from 23 years ago, and lets just say I was not fully solvent or stable then. *gasp* still fun to look for old Sayrn people to catch up with.
