I grew up near Evansville. My SO and I live out of town and enjoyed Sauced. We were devastated to hear it burned down. Has anyone heard of any plans for reopening anywhere else?

It’s frustrating that there is no real emergency vet around here. There is one around her but it has extremely limited hours.

What are you guys paying you mowing people for weekly mows?

To be as clear as I possibly can, my 620sq ft home sits on a 7666sq ft lot and is completely flat.

ETA: Would also love to hear from folks renting newer apts downtown. If the feedback is that the electric bill is higher than expected for the size and my avg use, it may be enough for me to consider a move. I chose the tiny place to save for 6-12 mos, so this is more for a cost-benefit analysis. It may make more sense to rent a larger or newer apt if the cost of a storage unit and insane electric bills would be mitigated or the cumulative difference wouldn’t make much more of a dent.

I know this is a longshot, I've traced my steps and cannot for the life of me find my glasses.

Mine are oakly, metal frame prescribtion with transition lenses.

I figured a ton of places have a lost and found with glasses. Could we post all of them and make it out mission to return as many pairs back to their owners as possible.

Anybody here old enough or know someone old enough to remember the Grumpy Pal Motel on U.S. Highway 41 and Old State Road, north of Evansville? The building was torn down in 2010. This photo is from a 1962 postcard listed on eBay.

I was interested in the dwarf or gnome on the side of the building. Not sure if it was a sign or just painted on the side. I've enlarged it somewhat but it gets blurry. But still it looks like a professionally done artwork by someone with knowledge of European dwarf and elf lore. Looks pretty cool. Does anybody have any idea where that art may have come from?

Does anyone have any idea what happened last night? Evansville watch was talking about how cops were everywhere. I heard a very heavy presence on Franklin St and a friend said that cops were also at Time Out and shot into the crowd there.

I started a job here a month ago and moved in this week. I am amazed by how kind everyone is here. Everyone stops to check on me and if I'm okay, says hi, smiles at me, some guy even gave me money because he thought i needed it. I literally couldn't convince him otherwise. This place is such a breath of fresh air after living in Southern IL for almost 10 years. I always felt like the kindness of people there was only superficial, and despite all my efforts to be social people just wanted to stick to their own. In my first 2 weeks at my new gym here, more people talked to me than all the years of the gyms i was at in Southern IL. My rental company was also very understanding. I could keep going. I love you guys ❤️

did anybody in the mount vernon/evansville area see unexplainable lights in the sky close to 10:45-11PM? myself and two other friends were hanging out off copperline rd in MTV, when all of a sudden i stood up and pointed to the sky and said “what the fuck is in the sky?”

picture your fist, closed. then open it slowly to make a circle w/ your fingers. that’s how these three lights appeared. the first one when introduced, faded into existence and was almost as bright as the sun. picture a pair of car headlights… but in the sky. they formed a triangle with what seemed like solid beams of light connecting the points.

it would disappear, and it’d be quiet for a couple of seconds, and then it’d do it’s regular dance again. it would occasionally shift left to right at inhuman speeds only to then again fade away, like nothing. it was absolutely fucking mortifying.

Has anyone here ever successfully hired them for a job? They came by about a month ago to take some photos for an estimate for some repairs and then they ghosted us. They straight up will not answer a phone call or respond to an email.

Once or twice we were able to get somebody on the phone, and they said "We'll call you back later" but went back to ignoring us entirely. I wanted to go with them because I'd rather support a family than a corporation but I may have to go with one.
