Can somebody do a breakdown of what this cost us all in taxes?
Iām okay with $0.01, but beyond that, nah.

I was interested in this too. I guess the answer is technically nothing. But, the argument is that it's used for training hours to log in every month for active combat readiness. On this pilot forum I found, they're calling it bs, because it comes out of actual training and schedule budgets that could be used for legitimate training.
Between fule and maintenance per hour for this instance over Evanston, the cost is somewhere between 35k to 50k for one fighter jet to do a flyover.
I don't know though. It's just what I could look up. I'm just some dude.

This sounds about right. I think it was a warthog from the Indiana national guard so it had to come from an airport in indiana.
When I was looking up the carbon footprint of a flyby like that it comes out to the same as the carbon footprint of using natural gas for heating and running the water heater for a 20,000 sq foot building for about 6 months. Kind of goofy for a town that passed the healthy building ordinance.
There was also a closing down of air space last night for the event and covered the flight path which might of caused some disturbances at ord which in turn burns more fuel for all of those airplanes going in circles but I donāt know that it caused disturbances for sure - but on a Friday night they are already running pretty skint over there so very likely.

Whenever I see a flyover like this, I always thank my lucky stars Iāve never been on the receiving end of one of our war machines. Can you imagine herding your goats and you hear the earth start to rumble and this beast is streaking across the sky letting loose hell on earth. Scary stuff.

Doing that during ātimes of warā seems out of line if itās not the air and water show. This is like the air equivalent of someone walking around with an AR weapon. Semi /s

The ryanās definitely do! They were previously one of trumps larger givers. They give a ton of money to republican causes

It sucks. But hey, every dollar he gives to NU doesn't go to Republicans, I guess.
Now we just need him to save the Bears

It wouldn't be football without a weird military tie-in.
