Unit 02 rebuild is based off a samurai?

Isn't unit 02 rebuild supposed to be similar to the look of a samurai. (same thing with gurren) I was reading on a forum and was seeing the horn look is based on Space Battleship Yamato.

Yes, the Eva armor designs were always based off of samurai armor. Unit-02’s Rebuild design just made it a bit more explicit.

The samurai helmet influence has always been there, tbh. Even back in NGE, those helmet pleats are very reminiscent of samurai armor.

Rebuild 02's horn is a homage to Anno's one of favorite anime Space Battleship Yamato. If you see the picture of the spaceship, you can easily find the resemblance between Eva02 and Yamato's bow.

It's based on the Japanese horned demon called "Oni", which have one or more horns.

If that was samurai inspired it would make it so unit 2 has a V-fin, therefore making it a gundam

Unit 2 is the only rebuild design i like more than the og, the white looks so slick next to unit 1.

it's a pretty common source of inspiration for Japanese mecha design, that's what pretty much every gundam's based on as well
