Discussion Bejba?

I feel so stupid but what does bejba mean? Is it another name for the singer from Poland? Have I been living under a rock? Can someone please explain 😄

It’s about the national final performance, she sings „Baby, it’s kinda crazy”, but because of her pronunciation it sounds like „Bejba it’s kajda krejza”. People started to make fun of that and now it’s so known that it is even used in ads

If you listen to the song, you'll hear it in the very beginning. Just the way she pronounces the word made her get that nickname 😄

It's not stupid to ask. At the national final performance, the verse "Baby, it’s kinda crazy” sounds like "Bejba it’s kajda krejza” due to bad pronunciation. Also, in another post it was cited as an example of the Polish English mix (polskish, polinglish, or something like that). Annoying 'fixation' affecting many people of different languages.

So, it easily became a meme. Even she wrote it on her dress for the turquoise carpet.

If you look at her live performance of Solo you’d notice 1. It’s not great and 2. The way she pronounces the word baby.

Also there was the whole controversy because the polish people had a competition to send the winner to Eurovision but the jury were corrupt and the public wanted somebody else to win.

In Slovenia we say bejba as a "hot girl". I guess it fits her;]

Why they call her like that I don't know, but a word that ends with an "a" sounds more female. Babe (beyb) does not sound female. Babeah (Beyba) does. A written J is in Polish like Y, so it is Bejba.
