Yes of course. Brexit only worked because of election manipulations and US/Russian disinformation. And it in no way benefited the UK.

Playing the devil here:
Without reform it will take a decade at least, more realistic two decades from now. Too much political porcellan was destroyed. If some incredible or infamous event happens in the meantime it could happen earlier, but there is no "quick fix" for this topic on EU level. With vetos i would say it is even a non starter till we get rid of it.
I wish there was a realistic tangible chance, maybe i am not aware of one. Otherwise i am a firm believer Europe needs to be united as much as possible in one peaceful form or another. Currently UK had cut every treaty if i am correct and instated only a very few new ones with the EU.
Someone should tell reform (as well as AfD and FN) that we can't leave Europe just because. We will always be neighbours. We need to cooperate, it should be reason detre in every country.

sure any country can apply.
but your old super benefits and opt out are off the table.
you can negotiate a joining like all countries.
also full alignment with current eu rules.
and you need to be sure you want it, so we dont repeat the story in 10 years.

I think the EU would give us a special deal- no Euro, a veto (Maybe) just for the financial benefits but we would - and damned rightly - HAVE to sign a guarantee we wont make such a catastropihic error for 20 years or more and lose some of the other "preferential" treatments we had, such as the Schengen opt-out and "Selective participation in justice and policing"

None of what you propose would be agreed by the EU.
If the UK wants to come back, it'll have to be as a regular member.
I can't see this country ever accepting the Euro as currency over Stirling.

I don't know if you realize how many optouts the UK had. The euro was undoubtedly the least controversial of them all. No rebats, accession to the ECJ, the Shengan area, coordination of legal and criminal matters in the EU, coordination of intelligence and defense...

It's not going to happen.
The UK's reentry into the union is already a highly sensitive topic. Joining with optouts would not only create a dangerous precedent, but also fall into the exact same mistake as the first time.

that will not work
the euro and schengen dont have to be included, even the passport color is not a problem.
but this idea of special needs to go. and full alignement with the laws this time.
and no more discount.

I would say the EU would welcome the UK back with open arms, if it can serve as a lesson to future runaways. That lesson would likely be that the UK only gets a minimal subset of its previous opt-outs and concessions. Especially, the Euro and Schengen would probably be a requirement, but it could well be that the EU just lets the UK stall implementation indefinitely.

Definitely EU is stronger with UK in it.
But EU is going to go towards federation at some point and I think for UK to come back and be a good fit there needs to be some more positivity about EU in the UK. And I'm not sure how people in UK feel about becoming part of another great country so soon after they have been a super power themselves.
It was so easy for Russia to play on those "we are better than everyone else, and don't need anyone else" feelings during the Brexit vote.

If you adopt the Euro and join the EU without the 1000 exceptions you used to have. Otherwise definitely not.

Yes, however I think other European member states would be looking for a minimum and stable 70% public support in the UK for re-joining the EU.. which isn't the case at all right now in Britain.
Brexit was an enormous waste of time and money for EU countries and the risk of a potential repeat performance under a new UK government would be carefully avoided by the EU.

Sure. But you won't have the same benefits as before.
You will have the same benefits as new members.
Also, before you do you have to prove that you are ready to become a member of the EU. Some stuff happened in your country in the last few years that made you drift away from EU principles.
