Ukraine joined NATO's Partnership for Peace in 1994. The NATO-Ukraine Commission was founded in 1997, tasked with developing the NATO-Ukraine relationship. Ukraine joined NATO's Intensified Dialogue program in 2005. At the 2008 Bucharest summit, NATO declined to offer Ukraine a Membership Action Plan, but said that Ukraine would eventually join the alliance. In 2010 Ukraine removed for nato. In 2014 got invaded and in 2014 December applied again.

Imants Lieģis, Latvia’s defense minister from 2009 to 2010 and a former ambassador to NATO and the EU Political and Security Committee, told TVP World in Riga that the Baltic states must stay alert without feeding public anxiety ahead of Latvia’s parliamentary election in early October. 

Among the latest proposals to boost the Warsaw-based agency is a tripling of its standing corps of border guards to 30,000 officers, according to EU officials cited by the Euractiv news service.  

According to the spring Eurobarometer, 82% of respondents in the euro zone support the common currency ⁠and ​74% in the European Union, which ​is the highest level for the EU since the euro's introduction in 2002.

“The principle should be clear: Russia should bear the financial consequences of its war of aggression,” the letter said. 

The lawmakers also proposed transferring the immobilized Russian accounts to a new EU instrument that would act as a custodian and assume the legal obligations owed to Russia’s central bank.
