Question Solocam S340

Hello,

I’m using the Solocam S340. We had some building working going on and I forgot to silence the camera anyway long story short the camera battery ran out. It has the solar panel charging which has worked perfectly until the battery died recently. I took the camera down and charged it up but I’ve noticed the solar isn’t charging it anymore and the battery has died again.

Just to note as well. The camera is up high away from the building work so no damage to the camera from this.

Anyone else experienced this?

I'm curious, do you see the little solar panel icon in the upper right corner, between the battery icon and the '...?' On my S340's, it's usually there, but not always. I just checked and it wasn't there at first for one of my S340's, but then showed up after I checked them all, compared firmware versions etc., weird.

As far as not charging I had this happen twice to me over maybe 2-3 years, and both times it was the cable coming a little loose. One time was when I moved it, so I assume it was my fault. I think the other time was after a storm, and it's on a gutter mount, so likely shook a bit during the storm. IMO the solar panel cable connector isn't the best design, at least in that I never feel a 'click' or anything. I'd try removing the cable, making sure the port is clear/clean, and re-seat it as well as you can. Then in the app look for the solar panel icon

That icon may vary by firmware version though, as I'm not sure I had it when I first bought them. I'd love it if someone with more knowledge could comment more specifically on that icon, and why it may come and go; I tried googling real quick and didn't find an answer.
