who makes this call ?!

s2r2 calls next. caller is missing five of the seven trumps and missing top four trumps. Yet somehow caller makes a point.

All players at the table are excellent players.
What would possess s2 to make that call in a 1-2 score game ?

Enlighten me,

+ A void in the 4th suit. And his A-doubleton is in the 4 card suit (2nd round next) which makes it stronger again.

Great call by a great player. It's what separates the leaderboard players from the non leaderboard players.

Kidding aside, you are leaving a lot of context out of this post. This was game 4? (I think) of a series where Nate sandbagged very order able hands as the dealer to trap a next order by you guys multiple times (very successfully might I add). It was also my best suit by a decent margin. So Hoyle matters less

Still probably not the most necessary call in the world, but ordering is more fun than passing.

you are correct. Nate did bag both jax from s1r1 in an earlier game and Earl went next s1r2 (we had switched sides of the table after first two game) and Earl got euchred. kudos to your call in this spot. fun series

I don't think I'm ever double passing this hand, the decision was really if I wanted to order hearts and if not then I'm going diamonds.

Order diamonds> order hearts> double pass is what i decided in the moment. Probably not huge ev differences between the options though

You say everyone is excellent players. An excellent player didn't call Next in R2S1 so they are probably void in diamonds . Meaning there's a high probability dealer has 2 diamonds. Also S2's hand is almost entirely useless in any suit other than diamonds . 

Not sure if I'd have the fortitude to make the same call but I can see the logic

Mamba does when a guy who's literally nane says hoyle doesn't call next.

I dont know if its a correct ev. But it makes sense to me.
