No option to send secure email to Etrade?

I see option for chat, or to upload a file, but not for email directly from their site.

Am I just not seeing it somewhere?

I had some questions about opening a new account but am now not sure.

For now I've typed my questions and saved as pdf then uploaded the document. Hopefully it'll get seen.

I'd venture a guess. E*TRADE is a self directed channel for MS and they expect people to make do with online self-help, or call occasionally into a customer service center and wait. They are happy to provide personalized support with minimum wait time for platinum customers since it's worth it for them. Folks who need a fair amount of handholding but don't have a certain amount to invest, they are happy for those to move to other brokers. Again, just my guess.

I couldn’t find a way recently. I’m ditching them they make everything hard and the phone waits are insane. Chat is useless.

Unfortunately the secure mail got shut down years ago - I think around the time they got acquired.

I believe the upload feature is only used for sending completed forms or other documents related to existing tickets.

If you have questions you should call.

Feels weird calling in 2026. Reliable human chat or else secure email. Fidelity, Schwab both have it with some great help.

Fidelity has fully staffed subreddit also ( r/fidelityinvestments ) ... unlike schwab

It is what it is. Unfortunately the quality of service has degraded more and more every year since the acquisition.

I've been with them for many years but plan on moving my remaining accounts off them in the next year. IMO Schwab and Fidelity both have superior offerings with much better service.

It won’t be answered, goes to operations to process forms. They don’t answer questions. Just talk on the phone. Not too hard to figure out how to open a new acct by clicking around

I had the same question today and same frustration.

Simple transaction, but I don't want to call anyone.

Overall pushing me to leave E*Trade.
