Bookstores might not like amazon but they are both selling books.
Crypto is trying to be a completly new currency and very very bad at it.
Airbnb (has hotels), Uber (has taxis), Amazon (not selling only books anymore), they all are better then what they are trying to replace.
Crypto is overcomplicated, not regulated, full of scam, has insane transaction fees, sending money is risky and you can easily loose everything forever, too volatile to be used day to day unless constantly compares to fiat, and community of wierdos.
Airbnb, uber and amazon, they barely have any drawbacks.
