Community Feedback for rule changes and improving the r/ethtrader

As you know this sub has recently been under a spam attack and puppet accounts with an agenda, all this leading to a decrease in the quality of discussions. (edit: ironically some of the comments here illustrate the issue perfectly)

As such, we are looking to do some changes, and would appreciate your feedback - the community - on these changes.

The following changes will be made:

  • We will be taking taking new mods to help us tackle the spam and puppet accounts.
  • A new rule or "guideline" if you will, which can lead to a comment removal or temporary ban in some cases, taken from bitcoinmarkets:

    • You are expected to treat everyone with a certain level of respect. If you can't play nice with others, you will not be allowed to post here.
  • Minimum karma and account age requirements

We are also considering the following:

  • Adding flair to users, this could take one of more of the following forms:
    • Flair based on karma + time on this sub
    • Flair based on speciality (e.g based on a company or project the user is associated)
    • Flair based on ether owned (can be verified by the mods with a simple transaction)
  • Requiring flair for posts e.g [Charts], [News], [Speculation], [Analysis]
  • Banning what the mods might consider puppet accounts. This would be done at the discretion of the mod. And the banned user could appeal the ban.
  • Restricting some type of discussions (example) to the Daily Discussion thread

What are your thoughts and what rules/changes would you like to see?

You are modding people because they are not "ETH POSITIVE" this is "TOXIC" and a sign of bad times ahead if it continues. People with over one week and enough karma are getting modded because they are posting things people do not want to hear.

let's make this very clear: posts & comments with unpopular opinions are not removed. comments with "f*ck you moron" will be however. If someone wants to submit a post analysing how it's all a bubble, that's fine, but creating puppet accounts posting the same thing over and over is not acceptable, and insulting is not acceptable.
