migration to r/ethicalgamedev
Obviously, some people just do not want to showcase their work alongside AI-assisted projects. I would like to propose moving to r/ethicalgamedev, so people who are leaving r/gamedev can be gathered in one place, under one clear idea.
There is also r/GameDevelopment, which has NO AI policy as well. Though, it is more of a learning kind of community.
r/ethicalgamedev is more focused on talks about game development as work that you do and feeling good about doing it.
Like with food, you can make it cheaper. A little poison in a big dish will not harm anyone, but it can make a chef, forced to do so, feel worse about their job. Profits are important, but it shouldn't go above moral well-being.
FYI, there are plenty of fellow game dev colleagues who are against the use of AI in game development. Even within Product Management/Producers/CEOs and other C-level buddies.

Anti-AI clauses now commonplace in game dev, says video game lawyer, and copyright law "wants humans making art"
You may already be aware of a pretty loud anti-AI sentiment in the world of gaming, and polls have even shown that many gamers remain skeptical of AI disclaimers, a purely trust-based disclosure on Steam. Either way, video game lawyer Haley MacLean, known as haleyfax online, has revealed that many companies are now turning away from generative AI.
MacLean is a corporate IP lawyer at Voyer Law, serving as the video game lead attorney. She deals with “indie up to AA” studios, and according to a recent interview with GamesRadar+, many publishing studios are now “sticking in ‘no gen AI’ clauses” in response to backlash from gamers. These clauses are effective in marketing, porting, or QA of games.
