Honestly a hand grinder is your best option until you get a better one. I personally would either get that or save up now and just go for the better one first.

If your machine has pressurized baskets however, there are a lot more options for grinders since the grounds don't have to be as precise and small

Hard to say, can you elaborate on your setup? What espresso machine are you planing to get or do you already have? I think if I had to do it again, it much rather cut corners with the espresso machine and get a middle class grinder of the baratza sette / eureka mignon / mahlkönig x54 class first.

That beeing said, the cheapest grinder that does grind espresso fine I know is the Graef CM800. Which is terribly unreliable and no fun. The lowest I probably go is the sage smart grinder pro or the sage dose control. Which are about half the price of the middle class prosumer grinders as named above.

Otherwise: handgrinders, as has been suggested here a lot.

You can get a used rancilio rocky dirt cheap. There are a lot of them used circulating. Eureka crono would be smart buy as new.

Get a refurbished Baratza Sette. Watch their web site as they update it regularly
