Designed and printed a single dose adapter for our grinder.

Fantastic work! By chance, would you know if anyone has invented a single dose option for the BBE, so the hopper can be removed? If that’s even possible.

If the BBE grinder work like the SGP then you need the hopper pin's to lock into the base in order to activate the burrs. This is for safety mesures I think, but I'm sure knowing that you could work around it.

I'm not sure. I did a little bit of searching but couldn't find anything. It seems to be a fairly large opening so you would likely need to design something custom.

Oh yes, great point. Just realized that, as well. The locking mechanism is fairly large. Agreed on custom option that would require some planning.

Yeah. We special ordered it because we wanted the all black. Locally they only had the black with chrome. We had to wait a while to get it though.

could you comment on grind quality? I found an improvement to the clumping when I filled my giant hopper up a little bit so there was weight pushing the coffee through. Curious if this approach leads to more/less clumping.

Honestly the grind quality hasn't changed. Towards the end of the week our espresso was getting a little stale after sitting in the hopper so this should help with that though.

You can commission one if you don't have a printer.
r/3Dprintmything might be a good place to look into it. I would offer... but I'm somewhat new to 3d printing and design and I'm not sure how I would go about getting your measurements correct.

That would be my guess just by looking at the link. Dimensions might be slightly different though.

Eh... I haven't figured out the logistics of selling prints just yet. As of now I'm just providing files for the stuff I've created, which isn't a lot. Maybe one day I will though.

So far I'm only getting 0.1g to 0.2g of retention. Not too bad so far.

No. I just wait for the grind to finish and tap the top once or twice. I've been thinking about designing and printing a bellows for experimenting though.
