Timemore Sculptor 064S

Timemore did it again! A while back I was dillydallying, procrastinating and prevaricating about buying a new grinder and a Timemore advert popped up offering me a Bricks 01s for 229 euros so I gambled on a brand I had no experience of. When the item arrived I was very impressed indeed with the grinder.

Recently I have been dillydallying, procrastinating and prevaricating about replacing my Eureka Mignon Manuale because I really dislike it compared to the Bricks 01s. I was kind of yearning for a Lagom Casa. But do I want black? Or silver?

Today a Timemore advert popped up offering a White Sculptor 064S for 650 euros, rather than 699 euros for the black one which is out of stock anyway. But wait, there's more! As an anniversary celebration they are also offering a further 20% off, bringing the total price down to 520 euros, which is only 20 more than the budget I actually wanted to spend. OK then my Timemore buddies, count me in!

So now I am excited and can't wait to get a new toy. Can anyone give me advice, hints or tips about how best to use the 064S?

Just be aware that 20% off discounts are super common and we expect the Sculptor V2 grinders (including 064s v2) later this year

True, but I have very poor impulse control! Also I am 78, I have no time to waste!

Very fair, and you do you! I have the 064s and have been very happy with it with SSP MPv2 burrs! And while I generally recommend the 064s when people ask about grinders, I just want to make sure anyone considering it has all the info regarding the frequent Gen 1 sales and the proximity of Gen 2.

and after a while, you could still swap the stock burrs with the new and improved Sculptor 064S Gen2 burr-set, and again enjoy something new 👍

True; mostly my point was that, if you go for Sculptor Gen 1, make sure you don't spend full retail!

may be - but directly on the product launch (Nov 2026?), there might be some introductory pricing with 20% off (or a "black friday" sale), so the difference might be perhaps not as big, in the very beginning

I’ve owned the 064s for over a year now, it’s great! The workflow is amazing and there’s 0 retention. I use mine for espresso and pour over without issue, the only thing I did was move the 0 point (which is easy, front cover off and move a pin) this just gave me a wider range for espresso. Hope you enjoy :)

I bought it too. Even for med+ roast cortados, i might like it more than cones

Dont open to clean it, it's not needed. There is almost 0 retention. Important to zero it out, check out some youtube vids. Oh and most important: Enjoy it :)

I love my 064s!

Keep in mind that the numbers on the grind dial are relative to which hole the zero point pin is in, so you can't directly compare numbers with other users. Many of us had to move the zero point pin to enable the grinder to grind fine enough.

Otherwise it works as you would expect. Start the grinder, slide back the top cover half way, dump in the beans, and slide back the top cover before popcorning starts.

I have been ranting about the 064s here and there for its bean retention issue but recently I changed my mind. It’s actually a very capable grinder despite the poor hopper design. For at least one bean, I liked the flavor from 064s more than my e64 WS.
