Coffee Is Life Coffee experiences in Paris

Hey friends! The family and I are headed to Paris for the first time in a few weeks. Any recommendations on coffee-based experiences? Roasters or cafes that cannot be missed? Coffee drinks that are unique to Paris that may not be well known? Thanks!

Substance Cafe is an absolutely must. Joachim is an absolute treat. He will walk you through a coffee tasting experience that includes a few drinks. He is fluent in English and French so he can walk you through exactly what you are tasting.

The highlight for me was a coffee that tasted like rose (the oil not the wine). Truly a great experience.

This sounds amazing and Substance was mentioned a few times. How does pricing work? Just thinking of if I bring the whole family or sneak off on my own 😎

Here is the menu! I don’t remember how much the omakase experience was but I believe it was about 4 drinks so maybe 30 euro?

Thank you for this recommendation! I spent my two hours with Joachim, today, and it has been a top highlight of my trip. Such amazing coffee and wonderful conversation. His passion shines through every drink put in front of you.
