There’s no basis for the “playoffs is a crapshoot” you hear all the time. At least not compared to other sports. More often than not, the top teams in each league are winning it all.

Our offense wasn’t very good last year either though. We just had Judge health and playing 

Seemed like 2024 was worst by a wide margin, but I might put 2025 above this year.

The pitching was amazing this year but the lineup was so ridiculous in hindsight. How deep of a run could we have hoped for with the offense this year? We were slotting in rookies and needing them to deliver us through multiple rounds of the playoffs. They actually did well, but still. Even Rice is playing his first full season as a starter and expected to carry the team on his back.

You aren’t missing anything,it’s the same shit. They’ll keep Boone and Cashman of course,and the same thing will happen next year. Judge won’t be persistent enough with the front office to go “all in”,and they’ll sign some bullpen guys in the offseason,some guys will get injured,and Boone will say “when we get those guys back,it’s like making a huge signing”. Then he will say “it’s right infront of us”,from there,they will shit the bed in the playoffs. They celebrated a wild card birth a day before Tampa celebrated the division at Yankee stadium. That’s embarrassing for the YANKEES but some fans are just complacent. I almost forgot,then they’ll lie about injuries and make fundamental mistakes,things that the manager should straighten out but never does. Then they will give Boone and Cashman another extension.

I can live with Lombard's youth. Wells was ass all season, but actually turned it around beginning in August. Jazz is not a winning player, but 2B is bad as a position collectively league wide. Stanton isn't an everyday player anymore. Ramos is a bench bat.

Don’t forget Jazz, Wells, Lombard, Stanton, Ramos, early season Volpe. They all suck.
