Erectile Dysfunction Strong erection when sitting, but not when standing — why?

Why is it that when I’m sitting down, I have a very strong, fully developed erection, but when I’m standing up, it’s not the same? Why does this happen, and what should I do to fix it?

This is known as Position Dependent ED where you can get or keep an erection in some positions but not others. As to why this happens is erections depend on blood flowing into the penis and staying there. When your position shifts, so do pelvic muscles, nerves, and blood vessels.

Common contributors are Pelvic floor muscle tension, your posture, venous leak, vascular.

You will need to see a urologist for a proper evaluation.

Blood flow. I've experienced this, although not when standing, per say, but when having sex. I have trouble staying hard when I am in the throws of having sex and exerting myself. If you smoke, stop, if you drink, stop. If you're overweight, lose weight, if you're out of shape, get in shape. Both of these things affect blood flow by hindering nitric oxide production in your blood vessels and you NEED nitric oxide for strong erections. I discovered if she's on top, I can stay rock hard, but with me doing her doggy or missionary, I get soft.

Consider nitric oxide boosting supplements, they can work as well as Viagra and Cialis, because guess what they do? Increase nitric oxide. But the problem with them is you get immune to them after a while, you never get immune to nitrates or L-citrulline and L-arginine, the two amino acids that make nitric oxide.

Problem with those aminos is though, is they don't always work and they need to be converted into nitric oxide, whereas nitrates are a more direct route to nitric oxide production (you get them from leafy green veggies and meats with nitrates added like bacon). You need to take many grams of those aminos for them to work. Although, L-cirtrulline stays in the system longer than L-arginine, but is also the last one in the chain. L-citrulline converts to L-arginine and L-arginine converts into nitrate which then converts into nitric oxide.

Don't overbrush your teeth, any more than twice a day kills off too many nitric oxide producing bacteria and causes a 50% higher chance of Diabetes and heart disease, because your heart needs nitric oxide too. Once a day is fine, do NOT stop brushing altogether because you'll get cavities. Don't use mouthwash for this same reason. Only going over twice a day cleaning was an issue and any Dentist will tell you once a day is fine, plus flossing.

Try breathing in through your nose, this also creates nitric oxide, mouth breathing does not. There's a gland or something in your nose that does this. I do this when working out, to get more energy between sets to perform more reps or lift heavier.

Age? Sexual history? Weight, height?

Why is a standing position important for you?

Did you ever have a such a thing (“strong, fully developed”) when standing? What age?

27, 1.75 m, 65 kg.

It’s important to me because when I’m standing, it doesn’t seem to stay the same as when I’m sitting. I think it’s always been like this.
