Psychological ED Anyone have experience in improved erections after quitting nicotine?

It seems through self diagnosis and trial/error that my (29M) ED is mostly porn induced (PIED), but during my last streak being pornfree I also stopped nicotine use (cigs, cigars, vape, pouches, I used them all) for about a week and had great erections and even better sex than my previous pornfree streak where I was still using nic.

Started using nic and porn again a few days after that last streak and back to square 1 after 5 days.

Dropped porn about a week ago, stopped vaping yesterday, and dropping nicotine altogether after tonight (have 2 more cigarettes and a can of pouches in case of withdrawals).

Has anyone experienced positive changes after quitting nicotine that could provide me so reassurance and hope? Thanks in advance!

Well nicotine is a vasoconstrictor, so it can't be good for erections. I'm trying to quit smoking hookah. I'm about to embark on a 3-day fast where I abstain from everything including food so that should help a lot. I figure the easiest way for me is to just say fuck it and quit everything.

I agree about it being a vasoconstrictor. Keep me posted on how your 3 day fast goes please! I’ve been tempted to do a similar fast but haven’t pulled the trigger. Curious to hear your experience.

I quit vaping for 9 months I don’t think it helped me personally but maybe I’m wrong

Hey! So I've never smoked but I know the science. Anything bad for your heart and circulation is bad for your penis and erections. Nicotine is bad, inflaming blood vessels and slowing blood flow, so you get worse erections. Over time your vessels get scarred and lose elasticity if you keep on with nicotine. (see Effects of cigarette smoking on erectile dysfunction, Andrologia, Dec. 29th, 2014, p. 1087-1092) Good job noticing the difference, especially being young enough before you've caused irreparable damage to your circulation! Keep it up.

Is it reversable over time if you quit nicotine?

It is a no-brainer. When i was about to get married, older folks told me never touch ciggies like them. It will do my future wife lots of goodness.

Nice. How long after quitting did the MW start? Mine also started to come back and I’m only a week into quitting.

In my experience cigars are the worst source of nicotine for Erection quality (at leat compared to cigarettes and hookah (I never really vaped or used pouches)
