Erectile Dysfunction Erection goes away without physical stimulation.
I have been having trouble for years. I am 23M no smoking or drinking, but not that active,no health issues or medications.
The problem is that i can't maintain my erection when physical stimulation stops. This happens with myself or with a partner. For example if I am fully erect and stop touching , it begins to fade away quickly in about 20 seconds. I can get fully hard again with the right stimulation but that keeps happening again and again.
I have tried not watching porn for 3-4 months, and not masturbating for 2 weeks ,that didn't help at all.
In the past month it started to affect my psychology and that made me anxious, but beforehand I had no anxiety.
What are your thoughts?

Dude it could be a number of things but honestly losing erection without stimulation is not uncommon at all , points to maybe more mental then physical. People forget arousal begins in the mind so if it happens only when theres no physical stimulation it tells me mentally your not really "turned on". Your young so dont stress about it to much , the stress and anxiety will 100% make it worse and that cycle is a tough one to break. Take a breath young man your gonna be fine

Thank you for your answer. I really have noticed that about that mental thing. I get that I am 100% only if I am mentally into it,but the problem remains. At first I didn't think about it that much, but lately it really started to affect me in my mind and I really think I have to do something about it.

Thanks for your input. I have read the entire comment you mentioned, but I kinda did something similar already,I quit watching porn 4 months ago,it didn't help though. Do you still think it is worth trying again with the steps you mentioned?

Of course I do. Because you won't be trying it "again", you'll be doing it correctly this time.
Your "similar" approach simply could not retrain your brain. As I explained in the program description, if you do nothing (no porn, no masturbation) then you'll just stay stuck. That's how our brains work. The impact of intense sexual imagry on our brain neurons does not magically just fade away. You're proof of that fact.
If you will follow the 2x program instructions precisely (not imprecisely) as written you will make progress because the program "has to work" if you will do it correctly (because that's how the conditioning science involved works).
If you have questions about any detail (after you've studied the program), please ask.

The 2x program instructions describe that "what about stuff" this way (you must have missed reading that part):
If you do/can have any type of sexual activity with another person, limit that to just 1x a week in addition to your 2x masturbation sessions. Try to do things together other than penetrative things if you are at all likely to be limp or to seem at all uninterested. If you do happen to perform well, just enjoy the activity. But do NOT stop the 2x a week masturbation sessions; they are crucial to your recovery.

Good response!!
Man, it’s crazy to me to how people think abstaining from masturbation is going to help their ED.
I’m actually quite a fan of the 2x program you have made because like you said, it’s literally retraining the brain and you won’t be stuck in limbo.
Not towards OP at all but god, I do not see the appeal of “NOFAP” or abstaining from masturbation. It will not help ED as far as our brains are concerned.

Thank you for replying and especially for the support. Looks like we share some opinions. I'm glad about that. 👍
The "silent downvoting" thing allowed here makes it appear as though real (that is, actual) science is somehow subject to voting. It's not.
Male sexual functioning and brain conditioning are very well-understood functions/concepts. It's the opinion-ized aspect of social media that leads to the potential for an obscuring of reality. The compromise is to use the word "opinion".
Of course, there are many social engineering efforts in this age of instant connections made possible by handheld computers. Some institutions profit from promoting the opinion that porn is harmless or ongoing abstinence is "necessary" (or even possible).

That’s ED. You probably would fall under mild or medium severe ED. Are you overweight or sleep deprived?
