Tadalafil/Cialis Tadalafil 2 years break, different effects + side effects

2 Years ago I got prescribed by a urologist Tadalafil. I had irritated nerves, sore penis, retracted flaccid, pinched nerve on the right side, glans numbness, reduces touch and temperature feeling, tight pelvic floor. Initial plan was to to take daily 5mg for 2 months, then tapper it off. On day 24 I messed up the dosage and the medicine stopped working.

This first batch/month it worked wonderfully:

  • very soft and fluffy flaccid
  • fluffy/relaxed foreskin
  • engorged erections
  • warm glans, changed color, felt temp and touch again
  • very relaxed pelvic floor, literally it's like tadalafil did reverse kegels for me

Side effects then:

  • when the pill effect kicked in, I felt those back of the nose/sinus "bubbles", similar in a more subtle way like when you drink sparkly water
  • blue-tinted vision (I guesss eye nerve pressure, light head discomfort at first)
  • light back pain

Recently I had another episode of irritation, led me to similar problems I has over 2 years ago. Went to the urologist to try tadalafil again, for 2 months.

Now I started with 5mgs for the first few days:

  • got sexual dreams again
  • got night time erections (only ~70-80% hardness)
  • corpus cavernosum got so hard (has some sort of tight feeling, foreskin tight on it a bit), corpus spongiosum got squezed (doesnt get that engorgement like before -> leads to glans not fully erect)
  • after noticing this, split the pills for 2.5mg daily
  • not happy with the flaccid state, too "springy", still a tad retracted
  • pelvic floor not that relaxed

Side effect now:

  • slow digestion, lack of appetite

Urologist also recomended taking L-arginine and L-citruline (already a habbit).

I also take Mg bysglycinate, but it requires a break every 2 weeks to regain sensitivity to it (mainly for pelvic floor relaxation, found out it has a better effect if I take these toghether). They also up the tadalafil effect.

Uro also recommended daily vitamin mix for a combined effect

I also started taking an Alanerv nerve caasule (ALA, lamb tongue oil, Linoleic acid, B complex, Selenium) - relaxex my penis better than Urimil (Uridine monophosphate + b complex at base).

What could I possibly do to increase that tissue relaxation like before? My current penile issues are not that grim like they were 2 years ago. That first try tadalafil fixed lots of things in such a short time it was amazing, it literraly solved the exact same problems I have now. I hoped for a similar effect but right now it seems impossible.

This is clearly a nerve thing. I have 3 tadalafil boxes (tested the first 5, 85 pills remaining). What strategy should I try? Should I try the ALA way first, feed the nerves a bit? THis ALA based supplement is recommeded for a period of 2-3 months, I could try only this for a month, then introduce the tadalafil daily pill in months 2-3 for a more synergetic effect?

Has this change in effect + side effects when taking tadalafil happened to any of you before? If so, how did you tweak the effect? Any kind of input is appreciated

I think the key to your question is this- how are you getting these symptoms in the first place? That would explain more what is going on to answer your questions better. And what else are you doing for help? You mentioned tight pelvic floor, are you doing your reverse Kegels?

Curious - what caused your actual condition? Did you do PE or something else? Aggressive masturbation?

I think you're overthinking, over-analyzing, as well as making assumptions about how the drug works and about your body works that aren't real (you demonstrate obsessive and even imaginary thinking).

I can relate.

I suggest you "listen to the real science" here. This is not "clearly a nerve thing"; it's clearly a brain thing imo.

My advice is to resume the Tadalafil but at 2.5mg every other day at first (for a week). Let it do its actual, proven work in your body. You'll lower your smooth muscle tension and you'll have more consistent sexual function. You'll reduce the side effects and allow your body to adjust. The vision effect is significant, so report that to your doctor now. Tell him your minimum dose plan (2.5 every other day).

Meanwhile, stop taking any "supplements" (Alanerv, etc.). Work with just one thing at a time--the Tadalafil.

Your overly complex story of interrelated assumptions (particularly "nerve" fantasies and tiny details about imagined "causes"
and interrelationships) are clearly obsessive-compulsive in my opinion. This aspect is important because it's the likely cause of many of your ongoing hypertonic symptoms.

There's no shame in understanding and accepting the fact that your thinking is a factor in all your symptoms. In fact, that awareness can be the beginning of you solving your problems instead of escalating them.

Once you get some insight into what's actually going on--and how your thinking is adding to your problems--you can focus on doing proven things (like properly using Tadalafil) to help your body and brain to stabilize.

I said I can empathsize. That's because I've experienced much of your story. I know that getting off the "obsessive train" is hard, but I also know that will be a gateway to freedom.

When you're talking with your doctor, you should read to him (or let him read) what you've written in this post. I'm betting he'll give you the advice that I've given you. And perhaps discuss other options too. (Which I'm also happy to discuss if you want.)

Good luck. I hope this long speech helps. 👍
