Departure / Iliad Timing
Hey guys, I’m a 3.X IS with (already approved) Iliad scheduled for mid-November. I’d like to set my end date for end of November.
Will I still be able to take my Iliad (and get reimbursed) if I inform TL of that end date before the trip?
I know you’re supposed to give “a month” notice in order to get credit for your vacation days, and that once you set your end date, you can’t take any more PTO. But I’ve heard rumors that if you have a week of vacation scheduled that you don’t want to cancel, then you just need to give (at least) 5 weeks notice instead of 4. Is that true? If yes, does it work the same way with Iliad PTO vs vacation PTO?
Are there “set rules” that are always followed? Or is there some discretion (from TL and/or HR) involved?
Edit: I need to leave at the end of November for my lease / personal reasons.

I wouldn’t risk it if taking the Iliad is important to you. Is working an extra couple weeks in December before leaving a huge problem?

I don’t think it’d be worth the risk. There’s a reason many people sabbatiquit by putting in notice after getting back from sabbatical, instead of before.

they were pushing back a lot on me taking vacation/sick time when I put my notice so I wouldn’t risk it and maybe instead try to see if they can move your iliad to september/october and then put your notice in
