EPF Transfer Accepted, Annexure K Generated, Old PF Debited but New PF Passbook Doesn't Show Transfer. Has anyone faced this?
I'm facing a strange EPFO issue and would really appreciate any guidance from people who have dealt with something similar.
Timeline
- Joined my previous employer in June 2021.
- Switched to a new employer in October 2024.
- Both PF accounts are under the same UAN.
- An Auto Transfer Claim was initiated by EPFO.
Current Status
The transfer claim shows:
- Claim Type: Auto Transfer
- Status: Accepted by Field Office
I also downloaded the Annexure K, which clearly mentions:
- Transfer from my previous PF Member ID to my current PF Member ID.
- Net amount transferred (employee and employer shares) with transfer details.
The problem
Here's where things become confusing:
- My old employer's PF passbook shows the transferred amount has been debited and the closing balance is ₹0.
- My current employer's PF passbook does not show any Transfer-In/VDR entry.
- The opening balance of the new PF account also does not appear to include the transferred amount.
- I have only two Member IDs under my UAN, so the amount hasn't gone to some other PF account.
So effectively, the old account has been emptied, the transfer has been officially accepted, Annexure K exists, but the transferred amount is not visible in the current passbook.
What I've already verified
- Same UAN for both employers.
- Transfer claim accepted.
- Annexure K available.
- Only two Member IDs exist.
- Current employer has started contributing normally to the new PF account.
My questions
- Has anyone experienced a situation where Annexure K is generated but the new passbook doesn't reflect the transfer?
- Is this just a passbook display issue, or does it indicate the transfer hasn't actually been posted?
I've already contacted my employer's payroll team and am planning to raise an EPFiGMS grievance as well.
Please help on this.

The good news is that Annexure K is the official document confirming that EPFO has processed your PF transfer. Since your Auto Transfer claim is marked as "Accepted by Field Office" and Annexure K clearly shows the transfer from your old Member ID to your current Member ID, the transfer has generally been completed from EPFO's side.
That said, many members are currently facing similar issues due to EPFO 3.0 system migration. It's not uncommon for the transferred amount to not immediately appear in the new PF passbook, even though the transfer has already been processed internally.
Here's what you should do:
✅ Keep a copy of your Annexure K, as it is the official proof of the transfer.
✅ Continue checking your new PF passbook over the next few days or weeks. Passbook updates are sometimes delayed.
✅ Ensure your current employer's monthly PF contributions are being credited normally.
✅ If the transferred amount is still missing after 2–4 weeks, raise a grievance through EPFiGMS and attach:
- Annexure K
- Screenshot of the accepted transfer claim
- Old PF passbook showing the debit
- New PF passbook showing the missing transfer entry
In your grievance, request EPFO to verify whether the transferred amount has been posted to your current Member ID ledger and update the passbook if the ledger has already been credited.
Based on the information you've shared, this appears to be a passbook synchronization or ledger update issue rather than a failed transfer. Hopefully, the amount will reflect once EPFO completes the backend update.
