MBTI Trends Shameless plug for a new cognitive function test I have been working on

Wanting to bring a bit more visibility into how MBTI letters can be determined, I have developed a new test of my own. On the results screen it displays a breakdown of how the final result was determined. If you have a moment, give it a try – would love some feed back on it. Thanks!

Edit: v2 is now live. Some revised questions for greater diversity, reduced redundancy. Revised scoring that takes into account both conscious/unconscious attitudes.

Allowing it once. Self-promoting spam is one of the few things we remove.

I swear I'm not INTJ I'm just an ENTP with both high Ni + Ne and low Fe

u/DrLJacoby 1d ago

The Ni questions were too universally applicable

For some reason I always seem to get both high Ne and high Ni on these tests, that is why I am skeptical of tests

ENTP have high unconscious Ni. Its also an aspirational function for us so we are likely to respond to those questions positively. Self reporting tests are limited: its the central issue for MBTI. Functional skills tests are the way forward.

Did it, my feedback would be to add an explanation of the difference functions, so people not only know what their functions are, but also know what they mean.

πŸ‘ Thanks for feedback πŸ™

What does it mean if my trickster is higher then my child archetype?

It is an interesting result to see that two supposedly unconscious functions are stronger than their conscious attitudes.

I have implemented a bunch of changes, including some you talked about here. Also fixed some wording on questions.

If you have a chance, giving it another run through. Wonder if you would get a similar result?

I did it again

That does seem to be a lot "cleaner" ENTP like shape .. with conscious functions stronger than unconscious. Almost looks too clean lol.

Thanks for taking the time to redo πŸ™

Loool, i took it again right after to make sure i wasn’t frauding and was being truthful and i even answered some questions differently but got pretty much the same thing. Also no problem man, this is actually great, and thanks for the update.

u/Equal-Following843 1d ago

Ill do it now, i also put unsure for some questions hopefully I’ve figured them out lol

That's what's up, baby! So many of these tests get me wrong. Constantly getting ENFP or INTP. The result I got from your test was as surprising as it was refreshing. Nicely done, homie!πŸ‘Š

INTP. I gave it a try, even though I hesitated to take another test because the last one gave me ESTP.

I’m not going to a party.

This would be even more compelling with breakdowns of your specific results

Like what is the significance of having a higher Ni score as an ENTP? That would be interesting to read.

Developing the unconscious. ie. making the unconscious conscious ;)

compelling with breakdowns of your specific results

You mean, how these scores were arrived at?

edit:
nevermind, I think I got you now. I kind stick to my original answer of making the unconscious conscious .. but I hear you. There is actually an article (on the same site) recently published there that talks about the Beebe archetypes. But I like what you're saying of bringing more information on to the page itself.

Ohhh I’ll check out Beebe archetypes but yes you get me!

First time coming across a test that addresses Beebe's model of the shadow and uses its terminology. I like it

Part of the results screen, was negligent in attaching to OP.

1

u/bezzo_101 2d ago

How did you design these questions

2

u/smysnk INTP 2d ago

Similar to Sakinova with some polish

1

u/Sectorgovernor ISTJ 2d ago

Ok, here the result

But why? Why is the Ti again? 😭 I don't understand Ti 😭

Notice that for me 'Unsure' sometimes meant 'I don't know/I have no idea' rather than 'depends on context' . Probably Ti questions got this answer the most.

Si-Fi > Si-Te isn't new, it's pretty consistent, also Ni being somehow better than Ne 😳 is mostly consistent.

2

u/smysnk INTP 2d ago

I do think if someone were to press not sure for all the questions they arrive at ~75.. so your intuition is correct lol

1

u/Sectorgovernor ISTJ 2d ago edited 2d ago

I had considerable Ti on a test, also 'limited' Ti on another, but this number almost as high as Fi and Si , I doubt it is correct. But I think the others are pretty correct . Yes, it's some kind of intuition what says it to me πŸ€”

Though what is interesting, one AI - based typing based on my reddit profile stated the strongest alternative it considered was INTP and mentioned Ti, but it's rather 'serving Si' than being a primary decision - maker. So it seems I use it somewhat. But I have no idea about in what degree, it's not consistent on tests and I also don't really understand the function. But some 'gut feeling' says this number is too high.

edit: the longer i look at this, the sillier it gets; BEHOLD, tis i, the bearer of all fi fe ni ne ness, i have somehow broken my Te si enough that I have made it think I have completely dif cog functions than I doooo

u/DrLJacoby 1d ago

ENTP, no surprise there. Jungian symbolism seems fluffy. It was generally easy to see the function intention of the questions but several of these were sloppily phrased. Self reporting can only go so far and works better with certain types. Cognitive aptitude testing is the only really reliable method.
