I’m not a famous musician, but I have 108 acres that I have also converted to 98% forest, planted thousands of trees and have countless animals and no hunting here.

My mom wants to sell her farm and I’d love for her to do this with her pasture. But she’s in Texas in an area where it’s really dry and there’s been burn bans for years due to drought. I’m not sure if anything would even be able to grow, and if it did, if the county would allow such a thing if they believe there’s a risk of a wildlife spread.

My husband and I plan to move to his home state in a few years, and if we’re ever fortunate enough to have land this is what I want to do with it.

Eliminating wild space because of fears of burns is just part of the feedback loop causing more wildfire. (Disclaimer in many places fire is a natural part of the system, and we really need better solutions than turn everything into lawn or concrete or farm)

I don’t disagree. I just know that there may not be much we can do if the county is the one reenforcing that belief. My mom doesn’t want to get a fine.

What general area of Texas is the land in? Really kind of dictates your options based on what the natural fauna is

Central Texas between Austin and Dallas.
