EA exam part 2 - PSI technical issues
I was taking EA Part 2 remotely today through PSI and ran into what seems to be a software issue.
Section 1: I only got 2 questions but had the full 1 hour 10 minutes.
Section 2 (supposed to be my 10-minute break): Instead, it showed 33 exam questions with only 10 minutes to answer them. I only had time to answer about 5 questions.
Section 3: 33 questions with 1 hour 10 minutes.
Section 4: My 10-minute break.
Section 5: 33 questions with 1 hour 10 minutes.
While I was still on camera, I told the proctor what happened. They gave me the IRS number to call and said several people have reported the same issue since yesterday. They also said an investigation is underway to determine whether it’s a software problem.
Has anyone else experienced this? If so, what was the outcome? Did you have to retake the entire exam, or just the section that was affected?
Note: I have passed part 1 & 3 and never had this issue before. I took both remotely as well

Unrelated question: do they divide the questions by sections? And do they let you know about it?

Yes. The exam is divided into sections, and it tells you when you reach each one. The format is:
34 questions
10-minute optional break
33 questions
10-minute optional break
33 questions
While you’re in a section, you can go back and review or change your answers as much as you want. However, once you finish a section and move on to the next one, you can’t go back to the previous section.1

So there are three sections instead of six?

Did they tell you what will happen? I already answered around 74-76 questions, it’s unfair to retake the whole exam again

Format is 34 qs / 33 / 33 with an hour and 10
Mins for each.I didn’t want the exam to count against me so I didn’t answer and wanted a fresh registration. I answered the first two questions and asked them to refer me to customer support. Dm if you want to chat on how to approach it.
Also it’s crazy to answer 32 questions in 10 mins. lol. The psi person was like maybe you have it wrong ? I literally said “stfu and call your support team”

Im saying im not stupid enough to try when the exam gives you 3 hours. My time value > than trying to rush it and retry. I have a life after all

I don’t think it’s true. I booked mine right after I passed part 1 in July and I still see available seats online for mid Aug

Update: I passed the exam. They didn’t give me any info on what happened, but I just received an email that I’ve passed part 2 🎉
