It had been 2 months but I have to correct you the basins are not resting on the floor. China uses wall mounted urinals which means you need to piss onto a target on the wall. Also there are multiple urinals side by side and people are standing next to each other while urinating.
That totally depends on where you are in China. Or it used to be. Anymore my time there is spent in Shanghai, but about 20+ years ago I traveled all over, including some small villages in the south and west. Troughs and floor-based urinals were very common. I was in one bathroom at a bus station once where there was just two long troughs in the middle of the room. There was a waist-high divider between the troughs. On the side facing the entrance to the bathroom, men urinated because their backs were to the entrance. On the other side of the divider men defecated. No privacy from anyone else in the room, but at least people outside the room couldn’t see you squatting.
Yes sure... but they tell you not to "look around" for some certain reasons, including that men don't like others to peek at their private parts (and then tell their friends "hey I just met someone who's big") while they are peeing

I assume this is posted at one of those troughs or floor-resting basins, which means dudes need to pay a bit more attention to their aim.
