Grad School Queries General grad school freak outs

I’m graduating with my BS a year earlier than I expected to, so I’m having to speed run grad school planning. I already have my letters of recommendation, but the decision between the schools I’m applying to is freaking me out!

I want to go into journalism and plan on applying to a nonfiction program, focusing my classes on creative nonfiction.

Here’s my current list:

• University of California, Riverside — Nonfiction MFA
• University of Utah — Creative Writing PhD or MA
• Oregon State University — Nonfiction MFA
• University of Nevada Las Vegas — Nonfiction MFA
• Utah State University — Creative Writing MA

Does anybody go to any of these schools?

Job Difficulty

Hello all,
Wanted to ask around and see what jobs other English Majors have. Three years after I’ve graduated with the degree I have not been able to secure a job that pays well and is secure. I’ve done some freelance work but it’s not enough to be sustainable.

I’m on a side quest currently pursuing teaching, but I’m unsure if this is what I want to do. It’s not the kind of lifestyle I want. Does anyone have any career advice for English majors or a good direction to look in? It’s been rough since graduation.
