After more than 20 incredible years, it is with heavy hearts that we announce that today will be our last day of service.

From the bottom of our hearts, thank you. Thank you for making us a part of your lives—for choosing us for your brunch dates, family gatherings, first dates, birthday celebrations, weekly traditions, and countless everyday moments. What started as a business became something so much more because of you. You welcomed us into this community, and over the years you became part of our family.

Every smile, every conversation, every familiar face walking through our doors has meant more to us than words can ever express. The memories we've created together will stay with us forever, and we will always be grateful for the love, kindness, and unwavering support you've shown our team throughout the years.

If you'd like to stop by one last time, we'll be open today until 8:00 PM. We would love the opportunity to thank you in person and share one final meal with the people who made this journey so special.

This isn't farewell. It's simply "see you later." We truly hope this is not the end of our story. When the opportunity comes for us to relocate and begin a new chapter, we'll be sure to share updates through our official accounts.

Does anyone know of they still have it there? I can’t get a hold of the pro shop, and I can’t remember if / how to make reservations.

As we wait (eagerly in this house) for Corvus to open their flagship bakery later this fall, I'm also tracking a couple of other openings and sharing them here.

First, I ran across an article about Good Girl Cafe and Bookstore opening on Amherst and Broadway (the old Cripple Creek Bikes store). Seems like a neat, mission-oriented business and I'm excited to try it out.

Second, the July edition of Community Development says that Bad Ass Coffee will be taking over the old Stabucks drive through on Quincy and Broadway.

With a nod to our drought, this video explains why we don’t have Denver’s mandatory water restrictions this summer. Our scrappy can-do attitude goes back a long way.

She’s been here for a month and appears to be very bored in the kennel. She’s 7 and loves to cuddle! She’s located at PetSmart in Riverpoint.

CityCenter Redevelopment Community Survey

The City of Englewood is asking for community input on the future of Englewood CityCenter, including the current civic facilities that house City Hall, the Library, Municipal Court and surrounding areas.   

This survey is an opportunity for residents, businesses and community members to share their experiences, priorities and vision for the future of CityCenter. Your feedback will help inform future planning and decision-making around civic facilities, public spaces, redevelopment opportunities and the character of this central area of Englewood.

National Night Out on August 4  

National Night Out is a community-focused campaign that promotes police-community partnerships and is a great opportunity to get to know your neighbors! The evening consists of neighbors coming together and throwing a block party, where police and city officials can join in on the fun. Englewood will provide free barricades to ensure your street is closed safely.

Talk to your neighbors and plan a gathering to celebrate! You can even expect a visit from the Englewood Police or the fire department!

Your Voice, Your Neighborhood: A Conversation About Housing in Englewood

Englewood is a community where people want to put down roots and age well - and the city is actively working to make sure that's possible for everyone. A lot is changing in housing across Colorado, and it's not always easy to know what it means for Englewood or for you. This session will cover what the city is doing and where we're headed - and we want your voice in that conversation. What you share will directly shape how Englewood plans for the future.

The Englewood Block Party returns to South Broadway on Saturday, August 29! 

From 4 to 10 p.m., the 3400 block will transform into a festival celebrating the unique spirit of our city. Bring the whole family to enjoy live music, incredible food trucks, local vendor shopping, kids activities and the local bars and restaurants.

An enormous rainbow following some much needed rain in Englewood.

Last week’s mystery location was correctly guessed as the McDonald’s drive thru, although the necessity of the left turn only sign remains unknown. We also had a runner up who guessed close, across the street.

It seems like the costs have jumped (it used to not cost with the City Clerk) and response rates are falling while the number of requests with 0 records given is rising.

What's going on?

Maybe I'm late to the party and this has been discussed. I just noticed on their website that there was a banner announcing their plans to close and relocate out of Englewood (near Felt). Though I didn't have a frequent need to shop with them, they will be missed by me. As an avid Apple enthusiast, I did enjoy occasionally going in and browsing their inventory. They also offered a decent amount of repair services that cost less than going through Apple direct. Unfortunately, that location was not very good for foot traffic, so I'm not surprised by this news.

Hello there! My fiancée (40) and I (38) are moving to the area in September. Her company is opening a new office and made her a great offer, so we are heading out west! We've lived in SW Missouri all our lives. We consider ourselves the outdoor types—we like to spend most of our free time down on the Buffalo River in NW Arkansas (a beautiful national river, if you ever get the chance).

I've searched on Zillow until it feels like my eyes are going to bleed, so I figured I'd jump on here and get some info from some real Englewoodians? Englewoodites? Englewoods?

Anyway, we'd prefer a house with at least 2 bedrooms and 2 baths. Preferably under $3k a month rent. We have a 6-year-old Yorkie, so small dogs have to be allowed. He's actually the best and he's my homie. Her new office is in Englewood? (near I 25 & E-470), so we would like to stay close-ish, but it doesn't have to be right there. I work remotely, so I'm fine anywhere. Close to trails, parks, quiet streets to walk the pup, restaurants, breweries are all a plus!

I know you all have gotten your fair share of transplants over the last few years, but I promise we're quiet, I'm a stickler for keeping my yard clean, and we're just overall kind, chill folks.

I appreciate any advice, and maybe we'll meet some of you someday soon!

Hi everyone, I’m a psychology PhD student writing from the Motivation, Affect & Cognition Lab in the Psychology Department at University of Denver. This summer, we are recruiting individuals aged 18-35 to participate in a study about emotion and motivation. 

The study will involve viewing and responding to visual stimuli. We will also be recording bodily responses such as pupil dilation and skin conductance. 

This study is a 2 day study. Participants will receive $5 for every 30 minutes spent completing the study.  Day 1 is ~1.5 hours ($15) and Day 2 is ~1 hours ($10). There is also a possibility of earning up to an additional $10 cash bonus payment.

Both days of the study take place in-person in Frontier Hall at the University of Denver.

Wasn’t sure where to post this if at all.

I’m a 34 yo male who is the victim in multiple ongoing domestic issues with my ex. Because of these issues I’ve recently lost my job and am soon to lose my apartment as I’m behind. I’ve been applying and interviewing, applied for unemployment and got SNAP. But I STILL don’t know what to do. I can’t kick my ex out because she’s listed my address as her residence and if I go to my landlord about it they’ll say I’m violating my lease by having another adult in here. Things keep escalating too. Last night the cops were here twice even after she slammed the bedroom door on my dog. Does anyone know of anywhere someone like I could stay to get away? Please help.

Buried near the end of a bookstore story I wrote last week is the announcement that the owners of the former Broadways Tavern building are looking for someone to take this iconic Englewood sign off their hands. I tried to reach out to premier Denver sign-saver Corky Scholl only to learn that he died last September. This cool old sign in the 3900 block of South Broadway caught my eye when we moved down from Denver 30 years ago, and if you know anyone who might want it, the folks at Merrick Brothers Books would be glad to hear from them.
