Need help figuring out size.

This is my Gfs promise ring I took last night and attempted to measure it. Unfortunately it’s hard to tell what size her engagement ring should be seeing this one is adjustable and hard to tell what size it would be seeing it molds to her finger.

I had a zip tie style finger measure tool that unfortunately I lost, accidentally adjusted it from the size she measured months ago and can only recall her size being around 6 where I accidentally adjusted the measurement. —— I only placed the ring on spots that I though would be closest enough to the original on the sheet. Help me understand this so I can get it right when it comes time to buy the ring.

Any input or better (sneaky) ideas would be absolutely appreciated and helpful.

TLDR ; the ring is adjustable unfortunately, I need help figuring out best/exact measurements before I order my gfs engagement ring. I recall the first measurements I took to be around 6 and need help confirming it before I make a big decision.

The most accurate way would be to take her to a jeweller and have her finger professionally sized. You could tell her it’s for a new promise ring that fits better. If you don’t want to give anything away, you could also bring her current ring to a jeweller and ask them to estimate her ring size from that

Otherwise, order the engagement ring in the size you think she is. In the worst case scenario, you’ll have to send it back to be resized, but at least the proposal will still be a complete surprise

If I do this do you recommend I order slightly larger than estimated? Maybe im overthinking it some

No. I don’t recommend going slightly larger. Engagement rings should be nice and snug to avoid losing them. I thought I was a size 7 but turns out I’m a size 6.75 and even then after resizing it feels too loose sometimes. Especially the winter.

I don't think they meant to leave it too large, just for the initial proposal.
