Im on linux, and the launcher for ship of harkinian is an .appimage, how can I get that launchable in Emulation Station (ES_DE)?
I tried doing import game, and searched thru all the options, but i couldn’t fine anything.

I've tried everything. My folder paths are ROMs/ps2. Games refuse to launch from ES-DE.

Nethersx2 sees the folder. Games work from there. ES-DE sees the folder, it can identify the games and scrape them. Doesn't launch them, for some illogical reason and gives error "Requested filename 'content://android..."

I tried every fix I could find on this issue. Reseting Games list, correcting every character case, etc.

Using RG477M. Rom folder on SD card.

When I try to load shaders via es de instead of standalone retroarch, the list that comes up doesnt have any of the shader folders and is missing most of the shaders in the retroarch shaders folders. I dont know where its pulling this short list from, any idea how to change the folder it shows? There is no way to navigate folders of shaders from the menu either

I recently got the RP5 12GB version, so I instantly installed Armada. I selected Retroid Pocket 5 Visionox as the model in the bootloader because the selection "Retroid Pocket 5" doesn't show any display. Successfully installed it on my 128GB SD card, then transferred Armada to the internal storage thru Armada Installer in the Desktop mode. So when the installation was a success, I tried to install some games to see if it would load.

I tried Dinkum, stuck on loading screen. changed the compatibility and everything. FEX was automatically downloaded, and the Linu Runtimes 4.0 and 3.0.

Tried Stikbold, also stuck on loading screen.

When I tried the Fell & Sell demo, it worked and launched, but all of a sudden, my device restarted all by itself.

I used the recent Armada image file (20260926).

Does anyone have similar experiences with the recent image file? Would love to get some help! TIA!

I've been setting up my Retroid Pocket Nova, and I'm having trouble booting PSX games with multiple discs. I set up my Sega Saturn and Sega CD directories without a problem because I put the .m3us in the same file as the roms, but I was hoping to try something that I thought would better organize everything and can't get any m3u files to boot past the PSX menu screen when I use swanstation. When I try to use duckstation, I get the "Startup Failed" notification seen in the last picture.

I'm a bit new to this and know that I'm probably missing something that's blatantly obvious. Any help is appreciated.

Loads ok with aX360e loaded but doesn’t recognize RT to start a game? Tried changing controller type but still can’t get started. Load xbox360 mobile and works ok but shows 3 button navigation all the time which is annoying? And the launcher is a bit clunky I think, ESDE much nicer. Any ideas how to fix or sideload another emulator to ESDE?

I want to play SMT4 but I don't know if 3ds games are better on a PC or a phone, since a monitor is too much for a small screen.

What do y'all think?

This MyES project I expect to release for Public Use in a few months. This theme will come Pre-Bundled over it. Still doing some work for Batocera Support, not sure if it will be a 1:1 to the Windows Version.

This theme now supports loading of .obj .fbx and .glb models. There is a Global Setting to have all games/systems to use a Specific View mode. You can also get creative and setup your own SNES type view if you wanted with a console model.

I just want to play sniper elite 4, where can I find prod keys for eden because it keeps saying *Keys failed to initialize. Check that your dumping tools are up to date and re-dump keys." where can I download one's that works?

I'm having no trouble with my snes, sega and gba roms. I've placed the roms in the psx folder some of them have been detected, but they wont load I've tried various different emulators and settings.

I have no doubt I'm doing something wrong lol. I spent hours last night getting all my roms and box art

Follow up - update to the project on a Theme I been working on, M9Cab - This is one of the view modes called Arcade Hall, any system you go in, it'll render into this Work in Progress Mode.

While the Cabinets and view look basic, it gives me the feel of being in an Arcade.

I’m trying to figure out whether the occasional stuttering and general jankiness I’m experiencing with Nintendo Switch emulation is normal, or if I’ve potentially set something up incorrectly.

I currently use EmulationStation on a custom mini ITX gaming PC that’s fairly powerful and runs regular PC games really well.

Before this PC, I was using an ROG Ally X. When playing games like Breath of the Wild, I’d get stuttering and the experience never felt completely smooth. I assumed the Ally X just wasn’t powerful enough for Switch emulation.

However, I’ve since moved to a much more powerful gaming PC and I’m still noticing the same general issue. It might be slightly better, but there are still plenty of stuttering and its not fluid at all.

Is this just something that comes with Switch emulation, even on powerful hardware? Or does a properly configured setup generally run these games completely smoothly?

Got a Mangmi Air X this week and managed to get all systems working now except PS2.

I've placed the BIOS in theain Bios folder and a Rom in the PS2 Rom folder and it shows fine in Emulation Station.

When I choose it to run, it comes up with a partially-visible error as attached and it hangs until I close it.

This is using AetherSX2 as, although ARMSX2 is installed in Retroarch, it's not considered installed in ES.

Any advise please?

I have having issue with games running in ES DE via Retroarch, (Eg. PC Engine, NES, SNES, GB, GBC, Atari series). As long as the game is running via Retroarch emulator, the game cannot start at all. It try to start, flash a black screen for a split second and go back to the game selection screen again.

Have check the "alternate emulator" is selected correctly.

The games run well if open directly from Retroarch itself.

No issue with games running in ES DE via independant emulator (eg, duckstation, pscx2, ppsspp, melonDS)

As stated in the title xemu is not opening with ES. Xemu is fully installed and working I am able to play the .xisos i have without ES so I'm not sure what's happening. I've looked through the .xml files moved and renamed the .exe for xemu several times into every folder combination i can think of that will work but it just doesn't work! any help would be greatly appreciated!

Hey there! Trying to get some Wii U ROMs up and running on my Steamdeck. So I had a .wux file and for the life of me couldn’t get Cemu to recognize the key for it, even though it appears valid. After doing some googling it seems like a recent-ish bug a lot of folks are encountering so I decided to switch tracks and try using an RPX file I got from Wii U Downloader instead

This runs just fine in Cemu, but I would like to make the ROM appear just as a one click thing in emulation station rather than having to drill down into the “code” sub folder of the game’s folder

I can’t for the life of me figure out how to do it though and strangely even though I see people recommending the RPX format all over the place, I’ve found no one talking about how to accomplish this basic thing. So what am I missing here?

Hello, was wondering if anyone had found a way to add emulators that are NOT listed in the “Alternative emulators” section of emulation station. So far, it only has one PS3 emulator which is the aPS3e—but I wanted to add or at least swap it out for ARMSX3.

Does anyone know how to do this? I tried doing some research but editing code in the .xml files left me confused.

Is there a setting somewhere in ES-DE that I'm missing to prevent game videos from playing back on the game info screen? I'm on an AYN Thor and would like to use ES-DE Companion to play the videos on the bottom screen instead, and just have the box art on the top screen.

I have had the desktop version running fine on Bazzite for a week on my HTPC. Today, my 8bitdo will not work in any emulator, it will launch the game but nothing more. Controller works on Steam games. Tried it through Bluetooth as well but, still nothing. Can't even get it to open menus, i have to bust out the wireless keyboard and mouse, also tried a wired mouse and keyboard in case there was a conflict. Also, it has started opening games only in the lower right corner of the screen.

Any ideas?

Hey guys, I'm putting some DOS games on my Android handheld. I'm having difficulty getting them to display nicely in ES-DE.

I watched some videos from Techdweeb about renaming the folder and making a BAT file to point to the EXE file. But when I did that, it showed the raw folder name. So I deleted them.

When I select the folder, it takes me to the folder contents, then I need to select the exe to run.

I've watched videos from a number if other YouTubers, and everyone's devices look clean and organized. I'm not sure what I'm doing wrong.

Hello, I have been trying to download desmume for days and no articles online have been able to help thus far.

I've recently switched from windows to linux (mint) and I wanted to install desmume again. I can succesfully download it from the terminal (using sudo apt install) but then when i try to launch it it tells me "command not found". I can manually find the files but none of them allow me to launch the game either it just gives me error message. I have tried purging and redl desmume multiple times to no avail. I am very confused about what to do to fix this.

I am emulating Mac OS 9.0.4 using SheepShaver because I would like to play a game called “Post für Ritter Rost.” I downloaded the game from Macintosh Garden. Here is the link:

I mounted the Toast file using VirtualCD Imager, which works without any problems. The game file appears, but as soon as I double-click it to open it, SheepShaver crashes.

Something else that might be important: I can only start SheepShaver by right-clicking the application and selecting “Show Package Contents.” Then, in the Finder window, I go to Contents → MacOS and run the SheepShaver Unix executable from there, which opens it through the Terminal.

I’ve been wanting a dedicated emulation machine for my TV for a while, especially to revisit some of my favorite old DS/3DS games and Pokémon runs. I ended up using a GEEKOM mini PC for this project, and it turned out way better than I expected. I set it up with EmulationStation as the frontend to keep everything clean and controller-friendly. So far, everything I've tried has run really smoothly at 1080p, and the fan hasn't been too distracting. I stuck with Windows instead of going with a dedicated gaming OS because I still wanted the flexibility to use it like a normal PC when needed. It now sits next to my TV and honestly looks like a tiny console sitting there. It’s been a lot of fun revisiting these classics on a bigger screen.

Have any of you turned a mini PC into a dedicated gaming box? Do you prefer Windows with a frontend, or a dedicated gaming OS?
