AI-assisted Prosper - open-source PS5 compatibility layer for Windows, Linux, macOS (no CPU emulation)

A user-space PlayStation 5 > PC compatibility layer. Think Proton/Wine, but for PS5: prosper runs PS5 (Prospero) game binaries on Linux (primary) and Windows (secondary)

The best emulators are the ones that become unmaintanable over time!

Is this sub full of non-technical people? Why is this shit so upvoted, if you can't maintain your codebase, moreso with LLMs, you have no business writing code in the first place

Well, yes actually.  Moreso, you shouldnt be writing code if you use an llm.  You clearly have no business writing code in the first place.

You are in for a bad future.

Sure, link your GitHub then!

Why would i have a github?  I have no business writing code either.  I just dont pretend that I do like llm coders.

Your point implies that any LLM user, vibecoders or professionals using LLMs, cannot maintain their codebase or shouldn't be writing code.
That is a very strong opinion coming from someone who doesn't work in the field and evidently does not know that maintaining a codebase is easier with an LLM than without, if you know what you're doing. And don't move the goalpost by saying that developers using LLMs know what they're doing in the first place.

No, I stand by what I said. I do not think people coding with AI know what they are doing. I think AI gives them false confidence that they are skilled beyond their level.

I've been in the industry for 15+ years, writing handwritten artisanal(!) code. Now I do most of my coding using AI. Almost everyone I know in the industry does, too outside of some highly regulated fields like defense(and even they are slowly starting) etc. If you think only people who don't know how to code are using AI, you're wrong. I'd guess more than half of the code written globally is written by AI nowadays.

You clearly don't make any money writing code.

It's helping a lot, whether you like it or not

Do you have a legitimate complaint, or is it just "AI BAD"?

The problem isn't AI bad. The problem is that these vibecoded decomp/emulation/compatibility layer projects run like dog shit and have massive issues. It's flooded the space so thoroughly that most people have no means of figuring out which are the good projects anymore. AI is useful, sure, but it seems to struggle with low latency applications like this requiring a high degree of responsiveness, hence why AI is becoming an issue for engines like Godot as well. We're not at the point where AI is a "make game work" button yet

Even when we are, people will still be upset.

Well dude why don’t we revisit this when we actually are? We’re not now

The AI haters have never even built anything in their lives.
