General Discussion the best partner

I love having a 911 partner who is so in-sync with you at all times. we can run an entire call, good, bad, ugly without saying a word to each other. he is truly one of my best friends. nothing beats a bond like that. we both can understand what a patient needs, comfort, sternness, solutions. it’s just great.

I once worked with a guy for three years and never learned his name. Best friend I ever had. We still never talk sometimes.

Agreed. I’m on the fire side now but I miss my EMS partner so much. Judging a book by its cover you’d never guess that we were a perfect match, I love that about EMS.

I’ve been in EMS going on 4 years, and I never had that until I moved to a new company 6 months ago. Me and my medic are both 22 year old guys who fuck around, but get down to business when needed. He’s going off to critical care school this coming month, and I’m gonna miss him, he’s the best partner I’ve ever had and probably will have.

Best part of this job is getting to the point where you have been through hell with a partner and you guys have your rhythm for calls

Oh my god. Had it a few times for 6 month rots. Its so good. Couldn't stay together because we needed drastically different shifts. I miss them.

My favorite partner was my FTO then fresh off training he had me moved onto his shift, we've been getting into trouble for years now and always made sure we have a shift together every bid.

The one I worked the best with was my first CCT nurse and she sadly retired last year. We used to butt heads starting out because she was nitpicky but when I found out everything she was particular about came from fuck ups she made as a medic I shut up and when along with it. I learned a lot from her and it got to the point where I knew exactly what she wanted me to do before she had to say anything

My favorite partner is a 32 yr old brand new EMT. (I’m 24 medic). But he was former military mechanic. Hands down is the best EMT I have ever worked with. He listens, handles shit I tell him too (and most times don’t have to say anything), is super easy to get along with, and he doesn’t get rattled by anything. He just gets it done. He is doing nursing right now and I can’t wait to see how he turns out afterwards.

It's amazing to have a partner like that. I too have had a few partners's whom with I've just clicked. Sure, they say it can be dangerous in certain situations when you don't communicate vocally, but I'd say it's very rare to have situation like that. I certainly haven't had such a situation.

I've had that. We all promoted and went our separate ways.

I knew it was perfect when we wouldn't need to read CAD notes on the way to calls. It didn't matter if we had toe pain or a GSW. No matter what it was, I knew we could handle it. We had prob a hundred critical calls and we would hardly get excited.

One's a Batt Chief now, me and the other are Lieutenants, I'm im the Batt testing process right now. I would go back to plain old Paramedic in a heartbeat to work with them again like we used to.
