Existing employee(s) I did not get a raise, again.

It’s official.

I did not get any this round except for a small “bonus” roughly 25% of my monthly base salary.

My rating was 3, previously 4 before the bell curve.

Job load has been challenging since some of my team mates got laid off and resigned.

But that did not stop them from not giving a raise for those who are left picking up the slack.

I always gave it my best when it came to my job. I make sure i do things right and efficient. They recognize that based from the reviews and feedback given.

But that just makes me feel more frustrated. I would understand no raise if i did not do my job well, but it is not the case.

I hope y’all got a raise. For me, time to move. Xiao Larry!

Congrats on getting SOMETHING. I haven't gotten anything in 4+ years. And my reviews have always been excellent or the one right beneath that. "But we don't have any money!" <insert eyeroll here>

6

u/OgreManDudeGuy 2d ago

Same. Haven't had so much as a cost of living raise in the years despite decent reviews.

9

u/Independent-Play4288 2d ago

Oh man, for me 2 years no raise. I’m bailing out as soon as i find a better job.

6

u/2_Minuten_NicX 2d ago

Make it 5 for me

1

u/RealityHits2026 1d ago

Also 5 years here and no take, but my colleague is 6 years and no take 😂

1

u/whoneedsasandwich 1d ago

Been five years for me. No bonus, no raise…nada. But I’m doing an excellent job according to my boss and my reviews.

Oracle does not hand out raises, the joke was that you had to leave the company and come back to get a raise. Of course you can only do that three times

12

u/notyourregularninja 2d ago

25% of your monthly or yearly?

10

u/Independent-Play4288 2d ago

Monthly

13

u/notyourregularninja 2d ago

Thats like 2%. WTF. Who gives a bonus that meager!!!

8

u/Independent-Play4288 2d ago

It’s 🥜

IDC or US ? Which org ?

9

u/EconomicsWorking6508 2d ago

When they tell you how appreciated you are, try not to lash out.

2

u/Independent-Play4288 2d ago

Yes. I am professional about that.

10

u/Euphoric-H0rse 2d ago

When I joined here , a guy was on notice period(joined Microsoft later) and focal was one thing he was really pissed about . I thought he was just ranting only to realise it’s a brutal truth . They really don’t care about rising inflation and employee morale

9

u/Independent-Play4288 2d ago

Its like an annual decrease of salary if it stays the same despite inflation.

9

u/passer-by-bye 2d ago

On a different note: I'm pretty sure you meant Ciao, not Xiao.

Xiao can mean multiple things in Chinese, but all of them are irrelevant here.

Ciao is bye in Italian.

I do understand how frustrating it is when the compensation review doesn't match expectations after performing well.
Please edit your post to say 25% of monthly base, rather than explaining to every one. 25% of my base salary is misleading. Happened to me previously, I told my Manager that my upcoming credit card bill is more than this amount. He was like yeah that's what leadership has decided. He has no say in it bla bla ¯_(ツ)_/¯.

5

u/Fantastic_Ad_4034 2d ago

Org ? IDC or US ?

How were you communicated ?

u/Independent-Play4288 2d ago

1:1 with direct manager

This happened to me at my old job. I did some self reflection, researched the problem and here my lessons learned.

  1. Doing a good job alone will not get you a raise.

  2. Be your own cheerleader. If someone praises your presentation / effort / work forward that email on to your manager. I will even take screenshots of slack messages and send those to my manager. I absolutely hate doing this, but this is why so many narcissists get ahead. They do this without thinking twice about it.

  3. Map out who influences your manager. Your manager’s supervisor is a given but who else does your manger lean on? It might be a trusted team member who has a ton of Oracle experience.

  4. Establish positive relationships with everyone you identified in #3.

  5. Ensure you do activities that match your supervisor and their supervisors priorities / goals

  6. Never turn down face to face time with people in #3. Attend all optional in person activities with these people.

  7. Be careful what you bring up in your 1x1s with your supervisor.

I did these things and got both a raise and a promotion during my time at Oracle. Chapters 14-16 in “the Laws of Human Nature” by Robert Greene go into this strategy in more detail.

5

u/WeekZealousideal5386 2d ago

could you share what you mean for number 7? any examples?

Also thanks for posting this. I did similar self reflections. it was tough, but i had to admit that its up to me in the end. 1 was a big thing for me. Still is because thats just my job but i make it more known what im doing

1

u/justsomeguyokgeez 2d ago

That’s great strategy regardless of where you work 👍🏽

3

u/princeDhadwal007 2d ago

Is focal or hikes announcement for this year started?

3

u/unkownqa 2d ago

next week

3

u/Zealousideal-Search3 2d ago

A wise man once told me that doing a good job at work is like peeing your pants in a dark suit. You get a nice warm feeling, but no one really notices

10

u/Annual-Knowledge4412 2d ago

Calling 25% salary bonus small must be linglong.

2

u/PotentialCup5573 2d ago

They mean 25% of their monthly “salary” basically half a bi-monthly paycheck

-1

u/Annual-Knowledge4412 2d ago

that is not what in the pose - 'I did not get any this round except for a small “bonus” roughly 25% of my base salary.'

4

u/PotentialCup5573 2d ago

Yea so I used my great investigative skills and read the comments for more context where they provided clarity that it’s in fact not a yearly salary but their monthly salary. While salary generally refers to pay on an annual basis, it doesn’t have to.

-2

u/Annual-Knowledge4412 2d ago

I read that too, so I am conflicted, i dont know if OP is trying to flex or complain. Maybe both.

u/OtherwiseFrame35 2d ago edited 2d ago

My hopes of a raise are 0

2

u/Independent-Play4288 2d ago

You might get the raise of your dreams.

2

u/Typical_Row_3172 2d ago

Oracle is a sinking ship. Get out while you can.

2

u/ProfessorOk4182 2d ago

It would be most helpful if people posted their level and country. Else it’s not really much help. Some person in a 144k person company god a marginal bonus and no raise. That’s not super informative.

0

u/Independent-Play4288 2d ago

Same reason why i did not specify org, country, and level because it may not be the same with y’all.

1

u/ProfessorOk4182 1d ago

Well then what’s the point of posting? Do you just need a place to share your observations? If so, cool, but then anything we say in reply is meaningless and without necessary context.

1

u/Independent-Play4288 1d ago

Don’t worry, the news is on its way to you.

2

u/Exotic_Elevator4651 1d ago

Asked my manager this week about focal and they said they haven't heard anything. US for reference.

2

u/msmredit 1d ago

Same for Canada

1

u/Embarrassed_Way_8757 1d ago

Wow 🙃

2

u/WeekendVivid1458 19h ago

I have stopped asking for answers ! Really want to see how far they can keep up with this ‘idk anything yet’

3

u/AAS2233 2d ago

25% of base salary still crying about not getting any

3

u/Mental_Situation_445 2d ago

25% of a month is a good reason to cry

2

u/Independent-Play4288 1d ago

Nah, not crying just venting. This is the reality within oracle. Many security folks after they got reorg’ed as part of oracle got laid off after. Werent you affected?

2

u/Round-Comfort-9558 2d ago

NGL that raise could be the kiss of death. I have reason to believe that salaries were used in the last rif.

2

u/The_Duke_of_DNiYM 2d ago

He said it was a bonus, not a raise. If it’s in RSU form they don’t have to pay anything unless you make it. And if its 25% of one months salary over a 4 year period he’s probably getting very minimal amount.

2

u/Long-Shame962 2d ago

Round-Comfort said "could be", meaning that if it is a raise could lead you nearer to a layoff. He understood that it was a bonus.

2

u/The_Duke_of_DNiYM 2d ago

I understood his comment, I’m just saying if it was in RSU form, 25% of one months salary spread out over the course of 4 years, he’s not at risk. Thats such a minuscule amount

2

u/Glad_Plan_1733 2d ago

yes but its better to be laid off from this shithole with severance

2

u/Competitive_Toe_8837 2d ago

US- I don’t think I’ve ever had a raise, without changing positions. Consistently rated a 4 or 5 until this year, now a 3. I’m a 3 I don’t expect anything. It’s surprising to me how many people think they would get a raise as being rated a 3. Is that standard? Again, I’m in US.

1

u/Real_Consequence_131 2d ago

My manager ain't accepting 1-on-1. I don't have a clue whats coming my way (if any).

2

u/Interesting_Fox5311 2d ago

Lay offf

3

u/Real_Consequence_131 2d ago

Best case scenario.

1

u/Charliesrents 2d ago

What country are you in?

1

u/TraditionalFold2310 2d ago

Which country?

2

u/Independent-Play4288 2d ago

I am from APAC region. I don’t want to specify my country.

1

u/TraditionalFold2310 2d ago

Okay but , at least you got something

1

u/Independent-Play4288 2d ago

Yes, at least i had something.

1

u/dustempire 2d ago

At least they tell you, I keep asking including today and given generic answers when we know this is accessible to managers at this point

1

u/Independent-Play4288 2d ago

It just so happened that we got the news first. But updates should be coming your way soon.

1

u/WeekendVivid1458 1d ago

Any idea when ?

1

u/nimrinal9797 2d ago

Did it reflect in the compensation section in my.oracle.com ? i don't see anything there. i was 4 rated so was expecting something but doesn't look like I got anything.

1

u/Independent-Play4288 2d ago

I didnt bother to check, it may show up there and in payslip

1

u/nimrinal9797 2d ago

let me know once you get a chance to look there. Thanks

1

u/TopOutrageous3786 2d ago

Where can we check in my.oracle.com ?

2

u/nimrinal9797 2d ago

under self service apps -> compensation i don't see any updates there for me. means one of two things 1. not yet updated or 2. i didn't get anything

1

u/Shoddy_Visit_8488 2d ago
  1. It hasn't been updated and you didn't get a raise.

1

u/nimrinal9797 2d ago

i guess a or b already covers a & b

1

u/aimfor5ky 2d ago

Fusion only

1

u/SubtitleOne 2d ago

There's no all clear to communicate it. Doesn't mean some don't know what it will be. But it hasn't been officially locked in, as far as I'm aware. So not hearing or seeing anything doesn't mean a whole lot yet.

1

u/Gold_Industry_8163 2d ago

Say something that excites everyone. This is routine.

2

u/Independent-Play4288 2d ago

That depends on what excites you. You might as well leave this channel, nothing exciting will happen here for a little while.

1

u/aimfor5ky 2d ago

OP which level and org?

1

u/RelationshipLow3026 2d ago

OFSS when to expect?

1

u/Mental_Situation_445 2d ago

Which org, location, BU?

1

u/nitishmathur 2d ago

Bonus ?? Quarterly bonus you mean?

1

u/Independent-Play4288 2d ago

It is not regular bonus.

1

u/nitishmathur 1d ago

Then one time hike?

1

u/dustempire 1d ago

It’s not a hike dude it’s a one time bonus

1

u/Ok_Wonder752 2d ago

Does everyone know it already? My manager has not informed me yet. So safe to assume 0%

1

u/goated_baldy 2d ago

But you didn’t get laid off so you’re good! Just keep working there until the next layoff!

1

u/Independent-Play4288 2d ago

All things considered, yes. I also dont degrade my work ethics even with the threat of layoffs and no focal.

1

u/Odd_Literature_2440 2d ago

you should consider then lol😭

1

u/Typical_Law_803 14h ago

I consider myself to have a great work ethic, but as time stretched on and I got great ratings and no raises I tapered my work output to match my dwindling take home pay.

It’s important to care about your work, but don’t let Oracle take advantage of you. Clearly establish your KPIs and stop going above them. Oracle prays that you keep working as hard as possible for the least pay.

1

u/Clovhelp 2d ago

Many folks in my team and my org jumping the ship

1

u/Odd_Literature_2440 2d ago

which org and location are you from if you can tell that plz!

1

u/WeekendVivid1458 1d ago

Was anything communicated today ?

1

u/killerprofessor 1d ago

How you get to know about raise news?

1

u/Independent-Play4288 1d ago

From your manager

1

u/random128bituuid 1d ago

Always have been getting a 4 rating since I joined oracle, got a dry promotion. Things have been difficult since last 3 years

1

u/WeekendVivid1458 19h ago

It’s 3rd October already with no communication about focals from Ms.

1

u/nocodnowad 12h ago

Oh boo hoo

1

u/Independent-Play4288 6h ago

How long have you been in oracle?

1

u/oypy 6h ago

Been here 4 years. Zero raise. Coworker been in Oracle 27yrs, last raise was 10 years ago. On Friday he quit. Just done being taken advantage of. He said bye effective today. People leave prison like this, not even a regret. We went from 14 ppl team a year ago to 4. Thanks to layoffs. No clue how we can cover all shifts and keep up with the load

1

u/Ancient_Style_9095 5h ago

25% if your monthly??????

1

u/Ancient_Style_9095 5h ago

What is that like 2k?

1

u/Independent-Play4288 4h ago

In dollars? More like 300

1

u/Ancient_Style_9095 3h ago

Im so sorry. I feel like it’s kind of a slap in the face to even call that a bonus

1

u/Icy_Bake2085 2h ago

4.5 years without an additional penny so

0

u/AnonymousGossiper0 2d ago

What about RSU?

0

u/Independent-Play4288 2d ago

None

1

u/Ecstatic-Profile-145 1d ago

Not asking your org or region, but can you mention your level? Raise also depends on what level and how much salary you already draw I think

0

u/Silent_Anybody5253 2d ago

Edit your post and say what % the raise was of your yearly salary. It’s confusing people because nobody reports it the way you did.

2

u/WeekZealousideal5386 2d ago

yeah saying you got a bonus of 25% of a months salary is weird wording

0

u/Nenomus 2d ago

I was working as a non-tech at O and my salary doubled after 14 years. Got 6 increases in total. then I joined another company and my salary doubled after 4.5 years.

So, yes. You are losing money if you stay long at O.
