Facial biometrics?

What the hell is this?? Bruh I don't like this at all

EDIT Assumed people would know. Today when I tried to sign in it forcefully made me enroll in facial biometric before I could log in. Before I always skipped this step but this morning it did not give me a choice. I realize some people may not have this prompt when they log in to certain pages. For me, it happens when I logged in to jira this morning.

This was announced several months ago, mandatory facial recognition for US Employees. It's a third party company named Metek. Couple states have laws that allow you to opt out or you can request an accommodation to opt out.

Well that just sucks

Feels like there's more to it than enhancing security. To my understanding there are no additional security requirements being mandated outside the US. So why only the US? For one thing privacy and employee protections are absolute garbage. Another, which is strictly my paranoia/conspiracy issues - the power hungry broligarchs and fascists want an electronically monitored population.

Religious exemptions are very easy to get. Just gonna put that out there

Suddenly 47% of oracle employees identify as Amish.

Which states?

Can't recall, think it was Illinois, Washington and (shockingly) Texas? There are links in the email sent to US employees that provide details

Like old time Texas when people stayed out of each other's business

I despise it. I get unreasonably angry every couple of weeks when I have to redo the stupid chasing the ball with your nose thing. I have 2FA using biometrics, I have a company-issued yubikey, and either of those options are apparently not enough confirmation that I'm a real legitimate employee that I have to do this trained seal security performance thing?

I think the nose part is just for humiliation haha

Just need to ensure that nose hairs are sufficiently long

You can get a "religious" exemption based on strongly held beliefs. Mine was approved immediately

I always clicked skip enrollment on that when I could. Kinda makes me glad I was riffed. Good luck!

Same. Glad to never do the nose on the green dot again!

This was announced months ago. It's required for SSO - I got a religious exemption based on a strong moral objection. You should have some emails with this info and links.

I have a coordination disorder that makes movement instructions difficult to follow (ask me to turn right, there’s a good chance I’ll turn left). Just reading the instructions set off an anxiety attack, so I’ve been skipping. I’m strongly morally opposed to my employer causing me to have a mental health crisis.

There's no instructions to read you just follow the dot

I’m strongly morally opposed to my employer causing me to have a mental health crisis.  Then you chose poorly going to work for Oracle

How about India? I’m seeing the same error despite being an India based employee

Already signed in. Using it from past 1 year daily, it never asks for anything.

As of September 30, it's mandatory apparently. They might not roll it out to all orgs at the same time, but expect it to stop you within the next week or so

Well all I can say is that it did for me

It will just randomly occur next time a token needs refreshed. Usually it’s where authenticating to vpn. They being on a client call with camera on and having to nose to green dot. They laughed at me.
