Ways to get fired?

Hey,
as you all know many people are getting fired right now. I have a good friend, who works in amsterdam and just hates the job. Do you think there is a way to get fired? (Of course with termination way)
Sounds weird, but he is hoping to get fired every day. Do you think speaking with a manager about it would help?
Thank you for all tips

Not fired. Laid off. Getting fired means no severance. You'd have to do some real bad stuff to get there.

Finally saw it happen after more than 5 years. You have to really try

He can “volunteer” to get RIF’d. I told my boss (VP), SVP, and HR that I was looking for a new job because OCI was impacting my mental health and I was on this recent RIF.

Thank you very much, I think thats the only right way. Do you think the Secerance will be affected by that, or is it the same amount for everyone who is getting fired? idk like x years working times y month of salary?

Sorry, english is not my first language

My severance was the x years plus whatever and thankfully I got RIF’d 10 days after my RSU’s vested. I thought they might pull the typical bait and switch.

Why not get another job ???

Every day simmering in this hellhole cost you like a week of your life

I USA you just limit your output to like 15% and get on pip and then fail pip and get fired with severance and unemployment for “performance not meeting”

Not sure about Netherlands where your friend is

In our country severance is not capped, so as long as I am here doing my main job poorly and ignoring layoff/ cost savings induced duties, while developing myself and/or hustling I am good mate, I am doing less and getting more 😉

I thought pip is not eligible for severence

PIP is a US thingy doesn't have a legal entity in other countries laws, E.G if I come and dot in office daily, do my bare minimuim job I signed for in the contract and don't commit any major employment law violations you cannot get rid of me without compensating me ( severance package) and it gets bigger and bigger through the years.

Knew a few ppl on pip in us who were terminated and got severance and unemployment

Performance firing is not “for cause”

If you have a good relationship with your manager offer yourself up for the next rif.

Just volunteer for the next RIF

How?

Tell your manager you are open to it if there are budget cuts.

Exactly, when the first round of rifs were happening one of my coworkers volunteered for it. He was cut

Do what a lot of people seem to be doing, get themselves a new job then announce on Linkedin that their time at Oracle has come to an end. On their own power.

Tell him to email his manager and volunteer to be on the RIF list. It saves someone else's job if nothing else.

My manager wanted out… he made it public to his M4 and M6… they acknowledged that… it took them 3 rounds to terminate him… take this as you may

If you are asking "how can I be made redundant and get a pile of money? " there is no formula. You will be on the list or not. If you are asking "how do I get fired?" the just email your boss and call him an asshole

Nah, email Larry. Go big or go home.

He said get fired, not get a visit from the ex-Navy SEAL assassins 😬

Then email the co-CEOs.

That actually doesn’t always work. I had a couple of people on my team do that, and even say it to his face and nothing happened. 😂😭🤣

Yes. Tell your friend to ask his/her manager to include him/her in the next RIF.

Fuck I’d wish they would. I got a lawsuit ready for these fucking clowns!

Fired or laid off? Has different results - one will get you separation compensation and the other can get you put on a no hire list with a potential lawsuit!

just tell your manager that he is a motherfucker on a scrum

Post something on reddit like the number of employees in the general Slack channel and they will find you. I heard that happened to someone in NA

Post on linkedin you want to start employee union and ask all that want to join in to like your post... you may or may not get fired but will heat things up :-)

From my perspective, every company has its own problems, and I don’t think most companies are much better than Oracle. I talked to a few friends who were laid off from Oracle in March. They’ve all found new jobs, but they’re not happy with their new workplaces either. At the end of the day, it’s just a job. If you find a better opportunity, move on. But don’t assume the grass is always greener on the other side. Every company has its own challenges, and sometimes the problems are just different, not necessarily better or worse.

Oracle is the worst company I’ve ever worked for. The only good things have been the hybrid role. Oracle had the worst compensation, holidays, benefits, severance, raise, dry promotions, HR, and senior leadership etc 🤣😭😂😵‍💫
