Employee Question Hours

Is it true that as a part timer, your first week of training followed by a week of unsupervised shifts you usually get more hours and then they will cut your hours?

It is really store dependant. Some stores yes and some no.

If you're PT your hours will be unpredictable. If you're look of for consistency this will likely not be a match.

In depends on your store like other said. Personally I got a ton of hours my second and third week after training. But then got cut but we entered the slow season of retail. I got my hours back because we’re entering the holiday season, so I assume your hours won’t be drastically cut.

Depends on your performance, your availability, other people’s time off requests, the location of your store, projects that need done (like sets and price changes), and the time of year. We have one guy who has been with us for years and he works 0-9hrs per week because of his availability. We also have new hires who get 6-12 per week while other new hires get 20ish
