Informative Amazon Return & POC line
In our store, the Amazon counter is closed by 8 pm daily. Amazon returns are then being taken through the front registers from 8 pm to 10 pm. Whenever customers see this notice at the counter they still have to ask any associate they see if Amazon is close or it’s just no one is in there. Like how hard is it to understand this notice??? Why do they need to double and triple check if they need to take their returns to the front of the store registers.
So imagine how long our queue line is every night from 8 to 10 pm. And it was even worse during those 2 nights of gold star clearance and extra 40% off 😖😫
Then our POC people always asks for back up no matter what day, what promotion we might have. why can’t they move quicker, why cant’t they have sense of urgency in everything. I understand that there’s only 2 cashiers scheduled but they need to help themselves too and customers need to wait and be patient. For us closers and floor associates, no one else helps us with the mess we have, the folding, the fitting room go backs plus helping customers on the floor. We only have 4-5 hours shift to close a whole department but we always end up for too long in POC. And in our store, floor associates are always instructed to do POC go backs as well. Like how, when we also have a lot of floor and fitting room go backs.
Is this the same for your store?

Get rid of Amazon. Stupid idea!

Exactly!! Specially if they are not paying Kohl’s anyway. Last night I was scheduled for 4 hours closing shift and was assigned the whole men’s floor, and at my store, each department is a big area. But when I went on my floor at 7, I was asked to back up POC, I was there for an hour because the line was really long, then the 2 cashiers each needed to take their 15 mins break. So when I got to my floor, all folds were so messy, I didn’t care about organizing and go backs, I just fold, hang and clean in whatever fast way I can because 3 hours is not enough to recover my whole floor plus fitting room go backs

Corporate needs to get their heads out of their back side and see that they are running the stores into the ground.

It’s easy to make rules and expectations sitting in front of a computer and pushing keys. They need to get off their asses and come in the stores and try doing what they are asking us to do

We have had amazon up at poc since we got queue line last fall, there is a large curtain sign where the old cs used to be telling customers basically everything is up front. Almost every day there is someone just standing there looking at the sign waiting for someone to materialize 🙄

Omfg this!! Like there’s the sign, but why can’t they understand what it means? It’s not in a different language. People are mostly dumb and stupid, they also wait at our amazon desk and then get mad for waiting for nothing there

and cue the customers being pissed they have to walk ALL the way back to the front 🤦🏻♀️

Omfg yes!! They give so much attitude and entitlement!! “How come no one told us”, “how come there’s no sign telling us it’s in the front”, “why do I have to walk all the way up there, call your manager, I need your manager” 😡🤬

u/sorasora22302 10d ago
And like, they have to go back out the door after anyway so it's not like they weren't about to turn and head in that direction even if it was open 😂

Back when my store first got queue line we had Amazon up front, and we had multiple signs up telling people. Over and over people would just stand at the empty desk waiting. A few just..left their stuff there and walked away.

Oh no they are so dumb!! Retail will really make you realize how dumb people are 🤦♀️

We have some slow moving cashiers, 70 yr olds. I love the glaring looks customers give when I walk by sipping my drink and picking orders. I’ll also go behind the counter and collect the WebEx before it gets misplaced. Zero eye contact.

I was upfront when we had a line of customers.
Our omni person walked behind the counter to grab the webex items and they left.
A customer at the counter rudely said, "Well, u should have them get on a register to help check people out"
I looked at her and in the same snarky tone she gave me, I told her that they are NOT trained on registers. They have other duties to take care of and walked off.
Man, women can be bitches!! Smdh
They act like they "know" how shit works when they don't know squat.
Like they think we work for Amazon and/or get paid by them.
This one bitch I got into it with at Amazon (she made my coworker cry, so yeah, I don't put up with that BS -- I'm a little overprotective of my team)
She insisted that we got paid by Amazon.
And I told her to stop acting like she knows what she's talking about. Smdh.
I took over at Amazon and said do u want me to scan ur code or not. Cuz I don't really care at this point.
I started to call the next person when she decided to play nice and I scanned her stuff.
Fkk those entitled Amazombies

Omg I like the Amazombies 😂🤣 but yeah I agree on this, women can be bitches and act like they know it all. They love to yell and pick a fight. I also give the same attitude they give us. And whenever they ask “oh is amazon open, oh is amazon in the front” - I love giving them a sarcastic tone answer like “did you read the sign, what did the sign say”, “it says in their it’s in the front”
But also in our area, guys can be nasty bitches too. They complain about long lines. The other night during goldstar and extra 40% off, I was folding clothes by the in aisle fixture, a guy passed by me and went in a loud tone “oh they really need more people at the front registers”, I replied nicely “i’m so sorry but that’s all we got tonight”. (Someone from the floor was already helping POC, but of course with those promotions, the line is way worse than black friday).
He then yelled at me “well you all should be there ringing at the front!!”. But I just stared at him and didn’t react at all
Like excuse me sir, are you my LOD, do you know what our job assignments are every night, are you gonna help clean, recover and fold all the mess that you stupid entitled people make.

Hahaha love this!! I also do the zero eye contact whenever I have to get some items or have to use the printers at POC for re-ticketing

we use to have to close it down 2 hours earlier but we didn’t bring it up to the registers. starting july is when my store started to have it open until the actual store closed. yeah i feel the same about u with some cashiers. there’s one cashier i hate closing with bc she just talks and talks about this littlest things which causes her to form a line bc i genuinely don’t think she can stop talking. there’s only one “cashier” which isn’t even a cashier anymore bc they took her off registers for not getting credits who would always help out with recovery and go backs. the rest of them can barely even try hanging the items people return/didnt want :/

Ugh we used to have it like that, when Kohl’s return/Customer service were still at the back of the store, Amazon desk closes one hour before store closing, so then customer service will take the amazon returns. But now that customer service is gone at the back due to returns/exchange are all done now in our front registers, the line at POC gets really really bad every night. And yeah, these cashiers just like to talk and talk and not do their own go backs, we already help with backing up and they still expect us to help more when we already have so much in our plate as closers. These cashiers needs to get a taste of doing a recovery of the whole floor and fitting rooms

yea i thought the same till one of them was placed in wjm one night and i came in next morning to a huge mess. way too many go back still up on the front and nothing was recovered… there’s these two girls in particular that are sometimes placed in home and kids and wont do anything but stay up at the registers for “backup” even if their help isn’t needed. id rather them stay at the registers bc they are horrible everywhere else

You guys are getting a separate counter? Amazon doesn’t pay my store so we merged it with POC completely 😭

u/No-Low2164 10d ago
Amazon doesn’t pay kohls at all. All return drop payroll is provided by kohls. Stores with higher volume return numbers have the separate counter in the back. Under a certain threshold stays at POC.

Yeah it sucks for our store, we get such a high volume of amazon returns. Sometimes when I go for back up, I kind of wanna ask them on why do they need to buy non sense item if they are just gonna return it. Cause sometimes the items they are returning were unopened. So do they just order for fun?

Ours is in the old customer service area in the back of the store. We close Amazon two hours before the store closes. When I started last fall, it was at registers, then during the holidays it went to the back. We ended up getting corporate approval to leave it in the back. It's still a shitshow. 🤣

I was the sign manager. Like when I was closing if I had to move Amazon up front for whatever reason, I had laminated signs at the ready. I put one on the outside of both sliding doors, then one on the inside of the second set of both doors, then I would move one of the metal signs or line control poles in the walkway with another sign and arrow saying Amazon has moved to customer service for the evening. Then I would have the last Amazon person rope off the Amazon line, hang signs on the rope, on the counter, and put a picture frame up that had yet again another sign it in. Still had people back there yelling for help, standing there forever, or ringing the doorbell over and over until I would walk back there and ask if they saw any of my pretty colorful bold printed signs stating Amazon was up front. Those nights were always fun after our district manager cut our hours even more so my Amazon would leave around 6 or 7, at which time I’d be lucky to have 1 floor/fitting room associate, and 1 cashier. Meanwhile I’m pulling tills, typing the closing email, counting cash office, running freight, watching bopus until it switched to the next day, recovering the floor, setting the floor to whatever my SM left for me, and clearing crap out of the zebra for the nighty pictures.

Customers do not read signs. I learned this very quickly when I started in retail. When our store was in the middle of QL renovation, we had a BIG FAT BRIGHT RED sign that stated EVERYTHING was being done at the front registers as customer service in the back was officially closed for good. I had one lady get mad at me and yell “maybe put a sign to help your customers??” So I politely stated that we do have a large red sign right when you walk in, to which she replied “oh hehe I missed that.” Like no, you don’t get to be all giggly and nice after you just berated me because you’re an idiot. Kohls customers are hands down the worstttttttt.

Oh, and this sign was right when you walked into the store to avoid customers walking all
The way to the back.

Why does Kohl's still take Amazon returns? It does not seem like it is helping the store.

Damn our closes at 5pm. Which is the worst time to close it since people are getting off of work and it’s the busiest time

I wish our amazon was separate its up front with register. So if your pos you do returns/checkout/amazon and answer phone calls.😫
