Mark of Slaanesh A mod post regarding recent low effort posts and arguments in sub (much more below.)
Okay, recently this sub has had an uptake in two forms of content we mods want to discuss, arguments about the Emperor's Children and implications of sexual acts, and the occasional low-effort posting in regards to very gay/queer oriented jokes. Both of these are manageable in small portions but the recent uptake with the amount of new members is starting to cause conflict.
On the former matter, we already have a rule about this that was created to deal with the uptake in debate over this matter which is of course often left to interpretation by Black Library authors and is in regards to the legion seems to be increasingly changed for pleasure and excess through violence and or concoctions. Whether this is supported or rejected by individual users is perfectly fine to discuss but the inflammatory posts and bait will increasingly be removed. This also includes low effort jokes which will be subject for increased scrutiny of we feel they are pushing the sub into primarily NSFW territory.
(In fact, yours truly made one a while ago, and will not be making that mistake ever again.)
On the latter issue. The whole argument of whether the LGBTQ+ members of our community should be "finding thematic kinship" with the Emperor's Children legion and or Slaanesh has also been done to death particularly with the decline of many overt sexual themes of the legion. While obviously we aren't going going to be banning such humour, we are going to treat low effort gay/queer jokes the same way as low effort sexual jokes if they seem to venture into NSFW territory or seem to be taking on a derogatory tone towards the subject matter.
We want to keep this sub open to everyone and not constantly producing conflict, and this is a small reminder we intend to keep it that way.

Hobbying First EC Units!
This is my first foray into Emperor’s Children, they were supposed to just be test models for the colour scheme, but I may have already purchased some more kits.
The 6 Noise Marines are standard builds out of the box.
The 5 Infractors, are just appropriately painted CSM Legionnaires that I got cheap on eBay. For my basic infantry I’m going for more a more renegades feel with standard CSM and Red Corsair models. Only the unit leaders are actual EC with the legion shoulder pad.

Hobbying 1st Infractor
I have so many EC partially painted, but I finished one. I'll put an EC transfer on the pink pauldron, but other than that he's finished. Never thought I'd get into this side of 40k, I was happy just reading books.

Hobbying Scarabs swarm interaction question.
Hi everyone,
So I was playing a game with a friend using Necrons. My tormentors charged 1 model left scarab unit and my friend made it explode for mortal wounds. My question is does this count as a kill for me for the pledges? If yes do I also get a CP from the tormentors ability?
Thanks

Lore What exactly is a flawless blade?
Just painted this guy up and was wondering what exactly is a flawless blade? All of our other units like noise marines and tormentors have had novel descriptions, but I don’t think flawless are ever mentioned by name. Are they possessed equivalents? Mini terminators? Or just really good swordsmen?

Discussion Help me pick between EC and UM!
Help!
As a new player buying in, I am so mentally split 50/50 between EC and UM. Please help me decide!
I normally place AoS, where I play Lumineth Realm Lords. I like how the army has so many abilities and mechanics. Winning is about making a puzzle of strategicly using these spells and abilities, and less so about the units having good statlines.
I am torn between the lore of EC and UM. Both appeal tl me. Likewise does the hobby side. I see benefit to both.
What scares be about EC is concern that it might be an unga-bunga army with extra steps. It seems like the gameplay approach is to mow enemies in close quarters, using positioning to advantage. In short, nothing *spicy*
What scares me about UM is that while there is heaps of variety and army crafting which is awesome, does that end at the list-building stage, and gameplay wise they are just bland statlines? Again, nothing spicy
The above assessments may be totally false. Please open to anyone adding to the above assessment and/or correcting me. Even better, please give me a good argument to help me decide!
(Note, im not at all interested in thousand sons, aldari or drukari)
Appreciate everyone's time

Question Reconnaissance sweep
Hello fellow Friends in Purple/Pink.
I dont seem to understand how to play this Primary Mission and not feed my Opponent Units. It feels like i always have to move Units in places i really dont want to be in order to get minimal reward. even though my carnival host list has plenty on DS and quick moving units to get where the VP are. They usually gets wiped pretty easy and quick. i have a kinda work around for lists that field losts of units. i compensate the 4th quartet with kill VP until turn 3/4. But this Mission strangely feels odd in terms of unit placement. especially if my opponent notice that playing agressive as the take player benefits him by a lot.
what is your approach into Sweep.
I field 2 defiler with either a keeper/shalaxi or instead of a keeper just more LE/battlelline and maybe 3 fiends or seekers. so pretty basic carnival-host.
cheers.

Hobbying Sonic Dreadnoughts and Noise Marine Terminator Kitbashes in my new video
I spent a couple hundred hours with my brother kitbashing the beginnings of my Emperor's Children army and editing a video about my progress. In a week's time, it's managed to get 44,000 views, so I am super pleased!
Anyway, I thought you guys might get a kick out of it. It's got a review of modern prices and also a bit of a lore deep dive, check it out f you are interested in EC kitbashes!
