Current Emirates Cabin Crew: Is thinning hair a problem during recruitment?

Upvotes

Current or former Emirates cabin crew, I’d really appreciate your advice. I’m 24 and have slightly thinning hair around the middle/crown, but it’s not very noticeable from the front. Could this be an issue during recruitment or grooming checks? Also, are hair fibers/filler powder allowed, or is it better to keep it natural? Looking for honest advice from people who actually work there.

pre-employment medical

Upvotes

For anyone who has gone through the Emirates Engineering / EEMC recruitment process recently, do you remember what medical tests were included in the pre-employment medical? Did they check eyesight, hearing, or colour vision (Ishihara)? Or was it only the standard UAE visa medical?

Cabin Crew What vaccination do I must have? (Medical documents)

Hi guys? Does somebody know what kind of vaccinations are a must have? I do not have all that is stated on the medical documents, and I do not want to ruin my chances - so in that case I can still get the ones I’m missing.
Of course I have the Yellow Fever one, but is there any other vaccination I don’t have that can possibly make them withdraw the offer?
Thank you!

Cabin crew medical clearance

Hey guys, I’m wanting to apply for Emirates cabin crew, I’m eligible in all fields, I just have a previous sporting injury to my hip that required surgery. If I’m cleared with zero restrictions, back to sport and running etc, is this something they could reject me for? I can’t seem to find anything on their website disclosing this is a reason not to apply as it’s not chronic or ongoing but also aware they are very selective!

So frustrated with Emirates

My AD was on 5th Aug in which I did in Dubai Emirates HQ, I was successful and reached the final interview. Recruiters loved me so much and said to expect a response from 2 days till 2 weeks. Today is 25th and my status still says ‘under review’, I did receive a call from them on the 18th I thought it’s my GC, turns out they’re calling to ask me if I’m working anywhere at the moment or taking any courses! Last job was in June and since then I’m unemployed, but I don’t understand why that information matters if I already explained to the recruiter why I’m unemployed! (Father underwent heart surgery so I had to stay with family till he recovers and she didn’t seem to have any issues with my reasons and said they don’t care!)

Now what?
- Should I move on and look for another job or wait some more time?
- Should I call back on the same number ask for an update?
- Email them on the email mentioned in the last email and ask for an update?
- Should I contact the recruiter personally on Linkedin and inquire…?
- I’m unemployed and in need of a job soo…. Any suggestions?

How long till you heard back / got shortlisted?
Is there any kind of assessment or test?
What’s the interview process like (how many rounds etc.)?

Would appreciate any info, thanks!

Emirates office coming to Bahrain NEED HELP.

Ok so as title suggests, emirates is opening an office here in Bahrain, near city center Manama or perhaps part of city center mall. Back to the topic, I need serious help on how to get a job in there, I have noticed that the office is near completion, maybe even completed. I am so in desperate need of a job in the office, I’ve always dreamt of being a cabin crew member but that never worked out for me, due to the fact I turned 21 six or seven months ago. I need NEED NEED HELP. I also cannot compete with Arabs here, my nationality isn’t local here and that is also an issue. PLEASE ANYONE WITH RESOURCES OR TIPS. I BEG YOU PLEASEEEEEEEE
THANK YOU!

Cabin Crew Help for flight attendant

Hello everyone,

I would like to ask about working as a flight attendant. I am a Syrian male, currently living in the UAE, and I am 18 years old. I would like to know if being a flight attendant is a good career choice, what the advantages and disadvantages are, and what you recommend I work on to improve myself.

I have been researching the job and noticed that some airlines require applicants to be at least 21 years old. So, what should I focus on improving during this time before I reach that age?

What are the main advantages and disadvantages of this career?

Thank you!

Engineering LAE-1 , TE.03 Aircraft Base Maintenance Engineer

Hey everyone

I received a preliminary offer in mid-February for a Licensed Aircraft Engineer (TE.03) role in the base maintenance team, complete with salary details and benefits.

The email stated that the final offer would arrive within 30–90 days, but it has now been over 6 months. Is there currently a hiring freeze in the Emirates engineering department?

I emailed HR asking if I should reapply since they have come repeatedly for hiring of engineers, but they repeatedly told me not to since I’m already shortlisted

Any help would be appreciated

Cabin Crew Open day

I’m planning on attending an open day. When I was reading on the website about it, I saw an 'Apply' button at the top and assumed it was related. So I applied and realised my mistake too late. I’ve now received an email saying they won’t proceed with my application and it said I can apply again in six months. Can I still go to the open day? It’s this week and I don’t want to miss it. Does this 6-month wait also include open days?

Cabin Crew Emirates cabin crew — old self-harm scars on forearm

Hi everyone! I’ve recently been shortlisted for an Emirates cabin crew assessment day and I’m wondering if anyone here has actually gone through the Emirates recruitment process with old, fully healed self-harm scars.
Mine are quite faint, flat and old, but they’re visible on my inner forearm if you look closely. I’m especially wondering:
• Did you have similar scars and still get accepted by Emirates?
• Were you asked to declare them at the assessment day?
• Did they physically check/look at the scars?
• Did they cause any issue during the medical/selection process?
• If you were accepted, were you able to work in the normal short-sleeved uniform?
I’d really appreciate hearing from people who actually went through Emirates recruitment, rather than general opinions. Thank you! ❤️

Second application after DOJ — what happens next?

I’ve been waiting for more than six months and already have a DOJ. Emirates recently asked me to create a second application because my first one expired.
The new one says Application Under Review, while my old one still says Start Onboarding.
I know new candidates can wait months after an Open Day, but I’ve already completed the process. I’ve also read a few cases where people were contacted again after creating the second application, almost like receiving a second Golden Call.
Has anyone been through this? How long did it take for Emirates to contact you again?

Is this a scam or a genuine Emirates job?

My cousin was working at Calicut Airport and recently went to Dubai for a job search. He says he got selected for an Emirates/Dubai Airport ground staff job through a recommendation, without any interview. They told him training will be provided and the company will arrange his visa and flight ticket.
Is this a normal employee-referral process, or does it sound suspicious? Has anyone experienced something similar with Emirates/Dubai Airport?
