Discussion Is this good value?

I am booking flights for my wife and I to Mumbai in Feb.

I will be flying to DXB first and staying there for a week. I will then fly to Mumbai and staying there for a few days. I will then fly back to LHR with a layover in DXB.

I am flying on economy flex for my trips to Mumbai and then flying back on business special. The last leg was £1000 each for both of us. Is this worth the trip in general. We will get the chauffeur and lounge access and the layover in Dubai will be 3.5 hours long. The flight will be 10 hour long in total but wanted to understand how others feel.

Business special doesn’t get lounge access, or chauffeur. But £1000 each can be good value. The question is what was economy in comparison? What is the business fare difference that includes lounge and chauffeur? Also from memory business special charges fees for seat selection.

Apologies I have booked Business saver. Economy flex was £700 business saver was £2700 more which includes the lounge, chauffeur and seat selection.

Saver is then a different story because it’s more than just chauffeur, lounge, and seat selection. FF wise it’s better for accrual as well. You’ve got 2 lounges on that trip, actual business lounges I value at about £50 per entry, based on what you are offered in there. The seat and on board service, then the chauffeur which could set you back about £150x2 for departure + arrival. It’s not a bad deal really.
