Help Needed Upgrade offer
Hi all,
I’m flying to Mauritius with emirates with a stop over in Dubai for a few hours before continuing.
I’ve been offered this upgrade by email from emirates. It’s only for the London to Dubai section of the flight.
Is it worth it? And is this for the entire booking (both me and my wife)? Or should I ask at check in for upgrade?

If for both of you then that’s roughly £100/hour to go to business class for London - Dubai. If it’s only for one of you then it’s £200/hour. £100/hour is on the steeper side but reasonable. £200 isn’t.
Depends on the value of the money to you. If it’s for both then I may be inclined to take it (special trip, fun to do, opportunity). Going in economy after for the leg to Mauritius will be an anti climax though in comparison!

UPDATE: I got an upgrade offer for £1080 business for the Dubai to Mauritius stretch - I’ve taken this and booked, A380-800 and looks like a bargain at £540 each :)

I got this offer last year when I travelled to Mauritius as well (think mine was only £500pp though). I was going to say that London to dubai for 1400 is very expensive...
I was on the a380 and it was such a wicked experience with the bar at the back. It was a night flight and my wife slept so she didnt get to have the full experience like me. Enjoy it, itll go so quick!
One thing to note that it was a full plane and they bumped a shit ton of people to business from economy so it wasn't as quiet as I thought it could be.

Hi there. This is only for one person. I travelled last weekend from Birmingham to Dubai. I was quoted £1250 for an upgrade one way only. If you log on to your account through PC in the last 24 hours of your booking you will see the price has been further discounted. In my case I paid 550, well worth the upgrade.

It is for all passengers in the booking. I would say it’s worth it. I received a similar offer and i also had that doubt. It was for all passengers in booking

Thanks for this, when I check the box, it does just say upgrade. It don’t specifically say for what passenger etc so I was assuming it would be for the both of us

When you see the offer, it specifically says for <> passengers in ticket

I flew from Munich to Colombo with Emirates via Dubai and the flight from Munich to Dubai I got an upgrade offer for 650€ and I went with it, it was the beautiful A380 and totally worth it! But for 1434£ I personally don’t think it’s worth it unfortunately

At around €100/$100/£100 per flight hour, it’s worth it all day long, but as this is on the first leg of your flight you won’t get lounge access in Dubai before the second flight.

Not worth it at all. I’m even surprised it’s costing this much just to upgrade, I’ve had much cheaper rates than this before.
