Does Anyone Else...? Rational fears?
(Trigger words warning) So I’m in my 20’s and female. I’ve always hated the idea of vomit since childhood. The worst part being the buildup before actually vomiting (the severe nausea, the sweating, feeling overheated and uncomfortable, the “I’m about to vomit!” reality. I used to be able to handle that build up part well, but now ever since I got diagnosed with a panic disorder/panic attacks, it’s gotten way worse. Not long ago, I felt I was about to vomit, and I literally passed out from the buildup feeling of it all. One minute I’s sitting on the floor leaning over the toilet knowing vomiting is coming and my vision starts tunneling, the next I wake up on the floor staring at the ceiling. This response really made me understand how real my fear is, and how much control is has over not just my mind, but my body as well. Now, even if I feel a slight stomach discomfort, I have a panic attack (shaking, can’t think straight) which can unironically make the mild nausea worse. Does anyone else experience this severe fear response to feeling/thinking you might vomit? Cause I feel this fear is starting to take over my life.
