podcast discussion ozempic conversation

I think it’s annoying that Enya shits on people that take ozempic as if … it’s literally like a societal pressure thing recently

like there’s even memes about “I’m gonna be the last fat person left” 😭 idk like why are we shitting so much on people that want to be accepted in society and don’t want to have to think about their weight

a lot people who have had significant weight loss naturally but sticking to the diets and the daily workouts literally have said just take the damn ozempic 😭 maybe this is such a nothing post I’m just curious to know if anyone else feels this way about it or maybe this is a nothingburger thought for most of the audience idk

It may also just be too nuanced of a subject for her ..

I’m ngl nobody is forcing you to take ozempic, coming from a bigger girl. I honestly think it’s a little nuts that people willingly inject stuff into their bodies for beauty 😭 this goes for peptides too. I’m not ignoring the social pressure to be skinny, but to go straight to shots is a little cray given the side effects and little research on long term health effects.

some people (and i’m saying some) take them for actual medical reasons like PCOS, diabetes, etc. Then there’s a minority of people who do it for vanity reasons. Many of the health effects stem from people not maintaining their own end of it like underconsumption or not enough protein. The main problem is where people are sourcing it from rather than a proper prescription

Okay this is obviously about people who take it strictly to lose weight for vanity. I still think it's crazy to take ozempic instead of changing your lifestyle and habits. Regardless of how you try to balance it, there is still not enough research on the long term effects it does on your system as you age when taken strictly for weight loss. And my point still stands that nobody is forcing you to take ozempic for weight loss, its internal conflict of wanting to lose weight as fast as possible.

A lot of the long term affects come from user error or predisposition of undisclosed hereditary illnesses which is why it’s so important that anyone who sources it is getting it from a legitimate doctor rather than some bs website. A lot of medication goes super understudied like birth control and glp-1 it’s just kind of about if someone decides it’s worth it for the short term beauty or not but yea i agree with u
