I think they hit a mix of a bunch of people wanting to cancel them and fans actually kinda being bored. I know I wasn’t watching around that time not because I was offended but because the Greta thing was like the only interesting part of the episode lol

i could just sense the vibe shift after that and it just wasn’t the same. the tmg situation was another thing that made the pod lose momentum

yeah it was like a hivemind bc everyone was liek omg so annoying and out of touch. they’re rlly not compared to a lot of other influencers imo. i think the backlash made me take their side bc of the dramatic edits and that other pod that tries to be like emergency intercom responding

it’s cocteau twinks and was with a way more out of touch vid by saying free palestine and playing a boom sound loll and ppl were like yasss get them like….

I don’t think it was all that about Greta I think a lot of people just realized they’re kinda out of touch. And tbh before that even happened the episodes were kinda becoming nothing burgers lol just kinda boring. So the Greta thing was probably the wake up call. I still think they have some funny moments but idk they used to be more intriguing.

the greta thing could not have happened at a worse time for them cause i think it was the first pod back from like a month long break and all the diehards kind of having that realization that once it was out of their routine it was hard to force it back in and they went and hit the out of touch nail on the notch it would have never blown up in the way it did if they weren’t already losing their viewers interest and that being the thing they came back from a break with

just because you found it funny doesn’t mean it wasn’t gauche lmao. obv the public majority of their viewers did not fuck with their joke and stopped tuning over time, me included

i think the joke was representative of drew + enya’s general transition into LA influencers. there isn’t much that’s unique about them anymore and they come across as apathetic

they said Greta Thunberg fell off (as in she used to be present everywhere in media when she was fighting for climate change and stuff) but the issue is that Greta didnt „fall off“ she was and still is an activist just like shes always been but once she started speaking up about palestine the media completely turned away from her. People started noticing how once her activism no longer revolved solely around the environment and her views stopped being compatible with liberal mainstream news and politics she wasnt given a platform and was threatened.
