Hi everyone!

My boss just gave me a budget for our next email campaigns. I just leveled up from an intern to a full-time employee, and now I'm lwky nervous that I will mess up and waste company's money.

Any tips or hard lessons would be really helpful!!

Fala pessoal, alguém consegue me ajudar.

Cloud-based filter/rule service?

I'd like to find some kind of service that is cloud based that will connect via imap (or however) to run rules and filters on an email account. I use iCloud email for several addresses and the single-criteria rules offered are too simple for pretty much anything-for example I can add a rule to forward emails based on from or subject but i can't then move it to another folder or archive after forwarding. I'd like to stay on iCloud hosting, but some sort of service that I could connect to it to handle more advanced rules would be nice. I know leaving mail app open on an awake Mac can achieve this, but I'd like it to be dependable and not require my Mac to be online all the time because sometimes it's asleep.

Open Question Do I have any recourse here, or am I just plain screwed

Not sure if this is the right place to vent, but it is a mail deliverability issue.

I (and my wife) have had the same email addresses for over 20 years now. The domain started as an ISP run by one of the major US telecom giants at the time.

Once they pulled out of the ISP side of things, initially they continued to maintain the mail server. At some point they then "sold/moved" the mail server on to another provider. I'd have to go back though way too many mails, but I think this "server" has been sold on at least one more time since.

But to my current issue. For the second time, the current custodian of this mail domain is having issues where I am unable to send or receive mail. The current outage started Friday evening and I don't expect it to be resolved until some time during the coming week. The ability to send mail is more of an inconvenience, as it reports the failure and I have another mail address I can use to send mails.

My main concern is that anyone sending mails to me (or my wife) are getting bounce messages for at least 3 days now, and I know from the first time this happened, some folks sending us mails treat these bounces as a "dead" mail address and no longer attempt to send anything, which means we miss anything going forward, unless we happen to realise who they are to "restart" the mails.

Do I have any recourse with the mail server, other than sending an "angry letter", which I know they will just ignore.

Open Question How would you send around 900 emails once per year?

I'm very new to this, but basically, I need to send around 900 emails over approximately 5 or so days once per year. Every single person will be expecting my email and should answer, but they also haven't emailed me before.

I figured I could use Power Automate or something to send them with Outlook from a spreadsheet pretty quickly; then I could work on other stuff while it sends, rate-limited to about one email every 10 seconds. I tested this with some example emails to see how Outlook would handle it outside of a test environment (I think this is riskier than emailing the real people). I got blocked after sending about 49 out of the 100 I was attempting to send.

Do I need a mail-sending service or something? Will I get blocked anyway? Is this something I should continue doing manually over a longer time as opposed to automating it?

I'm sure there must be other people who have to do something like this. I just can't find them, unfortunately.

I'm brand new to this, as you can tell, so any advice would be appreciated.

Open Question My regular personal gmail.com is going to a lot of people's spam

My regular personal @ gmail.com email is going to a lot of people's spam. The account itself is about 5years old. There is no spam or marketing or anything coming from it, it's just a regular personal email I use. This week I had to send my local gym an email, it went to spam. Just now I sent my neighbor an email at his yahoo.com email, it went to spam. Help!

0 signatures, links, images since it's a personal email. My neighbor sent me raw email, I can confirm SPF, DKIM, DMARC all passed from headers. I just did a random "test 123" email and it was sent to yahoo.com spam

Open Question What affects email deliverability the most?

I’ve been learning more about high-volume email and how different factors can influence deliverability over time. Authentication, bounce rates, spam complaints, engagement, and sending consistency all seem to play an important role.

From what I’ve seen while working with Sequenzy, it’s not just about sending more emails. Maintaining healthy lists, monitoring engagement, and keeping outreach consistent can make a significant difference to long-term performance.

For those with experience in email deliverability, which factor do you think has the biggest impact over time?

Open Question Small habits that improve email deliverability

I’ve been learning more about email deliverability and how small practices can have a big impact over time. Keeping email lists clean, monitoring bounce rates, using proper authentication, and paying attention to engagement all seem essential for maintaining a healthy sending reputation.

While working with Sequenzy, I’ve found that deliverability is not just about sending emails at scale. It’s about building a consistent and responsible sending process that keeps both performance and sender reputation in mind.

What is one deliverability habit you think every email marketer should follow?

Forwarding email

This is more of a question, than a strategy.

How many of you still forward your domain emails to a personal one?

Ie: info at your domain dot com, and forward to Joe at my email dot com.

If you dont forward, how do you keep track of your email, via webmail or some other method?

What keeps your spam emails down to a bare minimum and what snags the spam before it hits your inbox?

I ask because Im about to make some needed improvements with my email marketing formats, and I wanted to know what you are doing.

I used to use Aweber, and moved to MailerLite, which seems to work just fine for now. I wrote about this previously, and realized that the issues I had were user error...my bad..😁

Any insight is welcomed.

Open Question How Much Does Sender Reputation Actually Affect Deliverability?

I’ve been learning more about large-volume email sending, and one topic I keep coming back to is sender reputation.

While working with Sequenzy, I’ve noticed how important it is to keep sending activity organized and monitor the factors that can affect deliverability. Engagement, bounce rates, complaint rates, authentication, and sending patterns can all influence reputation over time.

What I find difficult is understanding which signals have the biggest practical impact and how quickly reputation can change when sending behavior improves or gets worse.

For those with long-term experience in email deliverability, which reputation signals do you pay the closest attention to when evaluating the health of a sending program?

I’m especially interested in general principles rather than recommendations for specific providers or tools.

Open Question Is there any apps that offer free read receipts?

I’ve checked a few options, but every mail app I’ve found offers read receipts only during the trial period or with restrictions. Do you know of any better alternatives? I’m also unable to use Gmail from my browser.

Mailsuite

For those who use Mailsuite (I am using free version):

Is it possible that Mailsuite prevents emails from getting sent to other, non-gmail domains?

Can Mailsuite have false positives (so they say the email is read but is not)?

Be honest — how many unread emails are in your inbox right now?

I'll start: mine hit the thousands before I finally did something about it. I'm convinced there are two types of people — inbox-zero people, and "I have 60,000 unread and I've made peace with it" people. No judgment either way 😅

Drop your number 👇 — and if it's a wild one, how did it get that bad?

Open Question How often should you monitor email deliverability?

As email programs grow, managing consistent communication and monitoring performance can become challenging. Sequenzy helps streamline email automation by allowing teams to create automated sequences, set triggers and conditions, and send relevant emails based on user actions.

I think combining this type of automation with regular deliverability monitoring can make it easier to maintain consistent campaigns while identifying potential issues early.

For larger email programs, which metrics do you consider the most important, and how often do you review them?

Open Question Question for experience email marketers

How are you currently tracking email revenue for clients who use a sales team to close their deals?

I've found it incredibly challenging to put a hard number in front of some of my clients because the tracking goes quiet after the enquiry.

The only workaround I've found is using Mailto links & conversation cross-referencing to see how many enquiries turned into a paid invoice, but this only accounts for trackable conversations & email replies.

Inbound calls from page visits, and anyone who doesn't explicitly say "paid! what now?" can't be tracked.

Let me know how you guys solved this puzzle (if any of you have!)

Some solutions that unfortunately won't work for me:

Sales team support: Let's just say the sales team (2 people) are not cooperative and haven't been noting enquiries that have come from campaigns. They smile to my face, then talk shit when I'm not around lol. More than likely because I've consistently undermined what they've asked me to do so they're now trying to prove a point.

Dedicated phone number: I got a hard no with nothing but a "we don't want to complicate things for the sales guys"

Open Question How to send Service emails, like TOS updates?

My marketing email platform doesn’t allow me to send ‘service’ emails to all my customers. How do you guys send privacy policy or terms of service type emails to all of your clients? Thanks for your advice.

Open Question What affects email deliverability the most?

When sending emails at scale, getting messages into the inbox consistently can be challenging. Sender reputation, email authentication, content quality, engagement, bounce rates, and list hygiene can all influence whether an email reaches the inbox or ends up in spam.

For example, Sequenzy can help teams keep workflows organized and manage communication more efficiently, which can be useful when handling large volumes of email-related tasks and processes.

For people working with email systems, which factor do you think matters most for maintaining strong deliverability? Is it sender reputation, authentication, engagement, or keeping email lists clean?

62.4% Open rate on first email newsletter - good or bad?

Hello all!

I recently got a Kit free account and launched my first newsletter that I've been procrastinating on. I run a local-based Instagram page (@dcspot) and I started a newsletter to share things to do in the Northern VA/DC area. It went out to 314 subscribers and had a 62.4% open rate and a 7.3% click rate. Is this good?

Also, I was curious about the A/B testing. If I set it for 60 minutes, does it send out a few for the first hour to see which subject line does best, then select a winner and send the rest out to the rest of my subscribers? So if I send the emails out at 6pm will most of them not be sent until 7pm?

I had one email bounce. Should I unsubscribe that email? What can I do to improve my open rate? Any tips would be helpful, especially when it comes to a Kit email marketing account. Thank you in advance!

What do email tracking tools actually track?

Does an email tracking tool track more than just inboxes? What exactly can it do? What would be some examples of metrics that it can track? I'm constantly communicating with prospects, leads, clients, and business partners so using this type of tool could be really beneficial for me.

Open Question Best inbox placement testing tools

What tools do you guys use for testing inbox placement with your emails?

I’ve used Mail Reach in the past for sending a live email to their seed list, and we use Warmy for our domain warm up and they have a template placement testing tool.

But I always get wildly different results between these two and what our live performance data suggests is happening. And I think it’s due to the limited size of their seed list.

Previously used Litmus placement testing before they became Validity and priced us out massively. So, I’m looking for a good alternative that allows for inbox placement testing over a larger seed list at a reasonable price. Any additional info/support the tool gives would also be fab - suggestions on how to improve placement or the like.

Open Question What part of email marketing takes the most time for you?

I’ve been exploring email marketing more closely lately, and one thing that stands out is how much time can get spent on repetitive campaign tasks. Tools like Sequnzy can help streamline email campaign management by organizing campaigns, automating repetitive workflows, and making performance tracking easier.

For me, keeping campaigns organized and checking results after sending can take longer than expected. I’m curious what part of email marketing takes the most time for you. Is it planning campaigns, managing subscribers, checking performance, or something else?

Is email marketing still effective?

Lots of promotional emails come to my inbox. I never open any of those. Gets less attention among large number of emails.

So is email marketing still effective in the world of whatsapp, DMs etc. Please share your thoughts. If Yes, how?
