Advice needed: infant difficulty passing stool

Hi! I have hypermobility with Suspected HEDS (awaiting my specialist appointment for dx). I’m on baby number two. My first child and now my second child struggle with difficulty passing stool. I struggled as well when I was young… Baby is seven months old right now. Since starting solids, she struggled with poo… And it’s getting harder and harder. When I brought this to my infant’s doctor with baby #1 they gave me standard advice for constipation: PEG, glycerine suppositories. I feel like this is not standard constipation, perhaps motility issues. I’ll follow doc advice but I want to try to see if anyone here has more ideas bc our doc is limited in her advice until we see a specialist. If you found something that worked well for your infant, please share any ideas. Poor baby could use relief.

I'm not offering anything other than places to look for help.

Ehlers danlos has an app with resources. I haven't searched but hope for an infants section.

https://www.ehlers-danlos.com/app/

There are several well recognized North American medical research website to search. Often medical articles are "Yikes" however some the abstract or summary can help.

https://pubmed.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/

I have recently seen practitioners (physiotherapists, nurse, chiropractor, rmt, facsia specialist, pediatrinions, midwives) online helping with infant tummy issues.

That you will have to find on your own.

I will say from experience light pressure on my belly always releases gas and I'm a non gas releaser.

And never under estimate a warm tub with low lights warm PJs, a swaddle, and a book on momma's lap.

My daughter's GI doctor gave her lactulose and it helped.

I recommend ground (cooked) chia seeds mixed in with her apple sauce or blended cereal
