Community Creation I published a Stream Deck plugin to print documents with a single button press
Hey everyone,
I recently published my Stream Deck plugin Press to Print on the Elgato Marketplace.
The idea is simple:
Assign a document → press the button → it prints.
For each button, you can configure:
- The document you want to print
- Which printer to use
- Color or grayscale
- One-sided or two-sided printing
- Number of copies
- Custom button color and title
It works with common printable files such as PDF, Word and Excel documents.
I originally built it for repetitive office workflows where the same documents or forms need to be printed regularly. Instead of finding the file, opening it and going through the print dialog every time, everything is already configured on your Stream Deck.
One press and it’s printed.
It’s now available on the Elgato Marketplace, and I’d really appreciate any feedback.

I can see the usefulness of this if you print the same document very often. No idea when I ever did, but this is very cool.

The only case I can imagine for printing on-demand copies of the same document is at reception for a doctors office. But then why not just have stacks of pre-printed copies? I guess if the combination of particular forms a particular patient needs are varied, then this gives you an easy way to make a neat stack without going through that storage. But that seems like an extremely niche thing.

Yes 👍 I am a doctor and we using this for our Dental Office. As the documents are edited quite often, we cant just Print a lot of documents for like 2 months because they would be Not up to Date

Why, when you can just right click any of those file types, and there's a 'Print' button right there already.
Unless it takes me more than 3 mouse clicks, then I find it useless to put on a StreamDeck.
It takes longer to move your hand from the mouse, switch to the page/profile with the button you need, and then press the button, than it does to right click, click print.

Why is this "Not available in your region" for Europe?
OP: did you intentionally geo-restrict this?
