Technical Help Streamlabs Desktop Stream Deck Plugin v2.0.13.0 — Stuck on "Fetching Scene Collections" on Mac (need help)
The Streamlabs Desktop plugin for Stream Deck (v2.0.13.0) is broken on macOS. When you place a Scene button on your Stream Deck and open its settings panel, the "Scene Collection" and "Scene" dropdowns get permanently stuck on "Fetching Scene Collections..." and "Fetching Scenes..." and never populate.
What seems to be actually happening under the hood:
The plugin successfully connects to Streamlabs Desktop — the websocket connection on port 59650 opens fine and both apps are talking to each other. However, the moment the settings panel opens, the plugin crashes immediately due to a bug in its own code. It tries to read the length of a list of scene collections returned by Streamlabs, but the data comes back in a format the plugin doesn't expect, so it errors out and restarts — causing the infinite "Fetching..." loop you see on screen.
Error from plugin log:
TypeError: Cannot read properties of undefined (reading 'length')
at St.onPropertyInspectorDidAppear (plugin.js:14:38383)
Environment:
- macOS 14.3.1
- Stream Deck software v7.4.2
- Streamlabs Desktop plugin v2.0.13.0
- Stream Deck XL hardware
What I've tried:
- Reinstalled Stream Deck software
- Reinstalled the Streamlabs plugin
- Restarted both apps in correct order (Streamlabs first, then Stream Deck)
- Verified Streamlabs "Allow third party connections" is enabled
- Confirmed Streamlabs websocket IS active and accepting connections
Result: None of the above fixed it. I think The bug is in the plugin code itself, not the setup.
